Just finished my first recording session of 2009. It was for Contemporary Christian Concert Pianist John Paul Miller. I recorded using real tenor sax, soprano sax and penny whistle. On one track I played EWI 4000s using Matt's 'Juno Brass' for a solo. On some of the other tracks I used my EWI USB playing "The Trumpet", using Miraslov Philharmonik for oboe, tympani and cymbal crashes, and Sonik Synth for Bamboo Flute, Rain Stick, Shaker and Wind Chimes. When he realized all the sounds I had in my laptop It was hard to keep him from throwing in the kitchen sink. Hmmm, do I have a 'Kitchen Sink' sample?
The client, John Paul, was very happy and impressed with the EWI. He wouldn't stop talking about how the cymbals and tympani were played by an electric horn. He also couldn't believe how realistic "The Trumpet" sounded.
I've posted mp3s of "The Trumpet" on 'The Prayer' and 'Amazing Grace' on my website.
Here's the link: http://berniekenerson.com/music.html
The bottom line is, a new client was blown away by the capabilities and musicality of the EWI and will be spreading the word.
Peace.
