Yes, we finally bit the bullet, and played our first gig with the new line-up (Slim Verhoef on guitar, Gwyo Ze Pix on synths and Nick "Nimbus" on drums - oh, plus yrs truly on bass of course...), at a party for an old friend, Alan, deep in the cotswolds...
It was - according to the folks there - "Bloody awesome"!!! (amongst other equally positive remarks!)
For myself, it was a real step forward, and a good hurdle to leap - now we know we can really turn it on live, we can relax a bit and start enjoying ourselves a bit more! All those nervous jitterybugs are banished henceforth!
The gig itself was also a bit of landmark in that it was the first time we've ever played a totally solar powered show - which worked 100%! We did do one with Alan a few years back, but that was a little bit of a "cheat" in that there were generators available as back-up - no such thing at this one! I'm really pleased that he's proved conclusively that it's a 100% viable alternative...
So... onwards and upwards we go - and it was great to be playing with such a gifted and positive bunch of guys - really good fun!
Hooray!

good to hear this happy news - possibly a difficult questiob but wh'appen to the obviously wondeerful LP record you were in the final stages of before the departure of el sharpo?  too good to waste so some kinda posthumous release is a must!
