brooklyn has its moments, like everwhere else. we are on the outskirts of brooklyn right now with our friend jeff from JP05 (www.myspace.com/JP05) who is helping us record some songs for a new Cedarwell recording*. it is slow going, but there have been times in the last few days that i get extremely excited about this recording*. lately, as much as broolyn-dwelling-jeff is able, Cedarwell has performed as a three piece-jared on drums and etceteras, jeff on mind blowing electric guitar and me singing and stuff. i am enjoying the new spaces songs can reach with an added voice and hope you will too. we will be working here for another couple days before we head back to WI via this mini tour:

**back in sheboygan before we head off to europe and playing out on the boardwalk along the river. if the weather is bad, it will be inside but i have a good feeling. also, we are going to have a little stencil station where you can bring your own shirt, bag, sweater, apron, pants, etc that we will spray paint with the "smoky mountain bear" artwork. (see cd cover and disc face) its a roaring bear and would probably look good on anything.

hope some of you can make it out to these shows. a few days after we get back i am headed overseas again to do a smattering of shows in sweden, germany, and the netherlands. it feels like i only just returned but i am grateful to be able to go again so soon. i am playing for a festival at the end of september in hamburg called the Reeperbahn festival that i am very excited for. there are bands i really like form the states (lemonheads, maria taylor, tv on the radio, bon iver) playing the festival and somehow they let Cedarwell slip through as well. so if anyone is in hamburg distance or just itching to take a spontaneous vacation, come by and say hello. here are the shows that are booked; (but check myspace or cedarwell.com for info and newly added shows) it will be nice to see all of you foreign people that were so nice to me last time around. some of the shows are with Rue Royale (www.myspace.com/rueroyale) and some are not. the shows in sweden are all with Winter Took His Life who if you have not listened to yet is an obvious indication you dont read or even skim my BLOGS because i mention her and her stellar music in almost every one.

** has anyone heard of zach vinson? he is real goodly! go check out some new tracks from his upcoming recording* called "Cracked Open." www.myspace.com/zachvinson i think it comes out for real in spetember or october and it is one of the things i am most excited for in those months.

** if you havent been to daytrotter in a while, visit again; if you have never been there, quick! go! it is a really nice site that has good bands come in and then they record their music, write a story about them, and draw a picture of them. our favorite band (also with a recording* coming out soon enough) The Daredevil Christopher Wright just went in for a session recently that will blow your brains out. you can download tracks for free. check it!
