So.....
We survived
Incredible. The Usual Violets Chaos ensued, I was still programming drums a couple of hours before we went on. And someone mixed green M&Ms in with the blue ones... sacrilege.
But I should say a huge thanks to everyone who helped and that includes the audience... it's a reciprocal thing and you can't do it without feedback. And the atmosphere was great, both electric and friendly, just as I remember it back at the best Violets gigs.

I overheard someone saying "it was just like a real March Violets gig!". Mmmm.... That's 'cos it was... The real deal, the last of the interceptors... And who would have thought we would sound almost identical to the early (true) Violets?  Well, us, actually. I thought we sounded better.

As to the future....
The Violets never did huge numbers of gigs, and I see no reason to change that. This gig was only ever intended as a one-off reunion thing, partly to satisfy fans who wanted to see us again or for those who never got the chance. It was also one of those things you do just to make life a bit more exciting, and to see if you still can. We have been blown away by the response... and we are really glad you enjoyed it. And, yes, we are aware that a lot of people who wanted to come didn't due to various reasons, but that is always the way. Maybe we should have given more warning and had tickets on sale for more than 5 weeks.
Anyway, we had a think and a talk and another think and agreed that we would be up for doing a very limited number of special gigs before we die. And that's only if you want them. So that is the real question.... Let us know what you think.

Warmest regards

Si. x

So - ever think about including the US in this limited number of gigs? Would have loved to be there at the reunion gig in December, alas, I don't exactly have the means to travel to Leeds.
Maybe a few shows, as long as you include Chicago? (which is only a couple hours to travel for me) Tag along with Sisters the next time they actually decide to play the US? :)

it would be brilliant if you could do more gigs! :)

as i'm only 23 i missed most of my favourite bands due to either not being born or being too young to listen to music...so any chance to see them again is brilliant - and you were amazing at the gig in leeds, so i definately think you should play again!

and i think another thing that made it good was having a really good line up, with a few other good/old bands of a similar genre, so i think that aspect of it should be repeated as well! :)

i look forward to seeing you again :D

Great news - thought you'd be daft not to keep the door ajar after that night - had a great time - Tom still looks about 28 though; how come, is he on a Blueberry and Goji diet with fistfuls of flaxseeds? Anyway, just wanted to offer my ten penneth and thank you all again for giving me the opportunity to see those songs performed live - next time out, try and get The Danse Society to join you - that would be a truly magical recipe and I would die a happier man.
Cheers,Saggy Ranjeef
ps.
Cheers for the can of lager Si - but still want the Jazzwank sampler!

I couldnt make it, was gutted as well as I was a little too young to see the Violets back in the 80s, I would love the chance to see you play again if it's viable!
