‘RACEDAY’ NAMED NASCAR’S SPEED (NETWORK) PRE-RACE SONG FOR 2009
This Sunday, Richie McDonald’s “Raceday,” will make it’s debut on the SPEED network show Raceday Built By Home Depot. The show covers NASCAR pre-race programming on SPEED, which leads directly into the All State 400 At The Brickyard telecast on ESPN.
The
song was co-written by McDonald along with Aaron Barker and Leslie
Satcher. "’Race Day’ is NASCAR, it is SPEED. It's a high-energy song
that captures all the elements of this high-energy sport,” said
McDonald. “When you listen to it, you can hear
the excitement from the fans, to the drivers, to the crew chiefs. I'm
hoping that maybe some of the drivers will have it playing in their car
on race day, because when you hear it, you can't help but drive fast!"
McDonald
recorded the song with producer and friend James Stroud for his
forthcoming solo debut on Stroudavarious Records, due in 2010.
“Raceday” will be used during pre-race programming on SPEED for 12 additional races throughout the 2009 NASCAR Season.
