Hal Jordan acquired the power ring and lantern from a dying alien whose spaceship crashed on Earth. The alien’s objective was to find an individual who is “utterly honest and born without fear” all which describes the character of Hal Jordan.

Hal is the premier Green Lantern in the famed Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force.  Armed with his ring, which creates hard light constructs powered by his imagination, Hal patrols Earth with his mantra:

“In brightest days, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight.
Let those who worship evil’s might
Beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!”

Check out all the downloadable content including DCUO AIM Icons, concept art and renders of Green Lantern on our website!

Don’t forget to stop by next month where we focus on another “green” character!

Still like Kyle better but a GL is a GL. No better hero.

It'd be awesome if they did beast if they did something with the Blackest Night, like an expansion or however it'd work.

They're alternating villians and heroes each month.  They said next month another 'green' character, no hero.  Poison Ivy is my guess since she's also 'green' as in eco-friendly - note the pun.

I think if this game wants to accurately portray the DC universe, you need the Corps. Even if it's just some of the players ( Kyle, Hal, Guy, John, Kilowog, Salaak, Natu, Arisia, and maybe a guardian or two) ( oh and Mogo, just cause)

First things first.  Poison Ivy is hotness incarnate.  She's sexy, she's sexy and she has red hair, she's sexy and she's brilliant, and she's sexy and her lips are full of poison.  I think the day that came where I would never deny the sexyness of the character was when I had a girlfriend dress up as her for a comic book convention.

I am getting a little tired of DC and them keep changing Hal's oath.  I can understand that this "Blackest Night"  Alan Moore inspired mega crossover is probably responsible for the changing of the part "Darkest Night" into "Blackest Night", but if you ask me it is just a bit Malcom X ish (Black implies evil or corrupt)  Honestly the word Black has much more meaning, and frankly I think it is the wrong word.  Darkest is the better word, as in "it is always darkest before the dawn."

But why did they change "Brightest day" to "Brightest Days"?  One, that does not flow anywhere as well, and it breaks certain grammar laws.  So it is saying that as a Green Lantern that Hal will have to suffer through multiple days of intense brightness, and only one really bad day of darkness? (or blackness as the case may be.)

Hal and the GL corps have been my favorite since the old Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrows.  The character deserves for people to get his oath right...
