Hello Guitarists,

This week from Sunday to Wednesday, I was the guest of the multi-talented jazz guitarist Brian Seeger and the amazing Casandra Falcouner in beautiful New Orleans.

During my stay, I gave a clinic for Brian's thriving jazz department at Loyola University and worked with some of his students from NOCCA - the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts. The topic was - the Essentials of Classical Technique for Classical and Improvising Guitarists - the tools that the classical approach provides for both classical and improvising players. My approach discusses the basics of the technique by encouraging players to examine the way in which their hand works naturally and efficiently, and then discussing in depth applications to specific situations: aka - scales, chords, bass-lines, and arpeggios.
