I've just added a pair of songs to the myspace music player, and I thought I'd give a little bit of a description for each one.

"Early Morning Dew" is not a new recording, but one that was recorded sometime during the Winter of 2006/2007 with my old friend Dallas Lockrey. Our band Frayed was on hiatus and I had decided to put out my first set of solo recordings, which ended up becoming To The Grooves. "Early Morning Dew" was among the first songs attempted for inclusion on the disc and this version of the song was recorded at Dallas's apartment over a few drinks one evening, but was ultimately passed over in favour of a second version (titled "In the Early Morning Dew" on the CD jacket) which featured Dallas on harmonica and me on my 12-string acoustic guitar. I recently rediscovered the earlier recording and was impressed by its messy looseness and playful energy. We were listening to a lot of The Faces at the time...maybe it shows. I actually prefer it to the subsequent version on the To The Grooves album. I hope you enjoy it too!

"The Divorce" is a new recording, which will be included on my upcoming release Son/Judge/Blues. It features Tyler Belluz on double bass, John Corban on violin, and Ashley McKee on tambourine.  It was written after a succession of negative encounters one morning on St. Clair Ave. West in Toronto.  True, it's a bitter song, but one that I'm very pleased with, especially with the fine augmentation of both Tyler and John's sympathetic and expressive playing.

More songs to come, folks!
Thanks for listening,

Jordan
