I am interested in radio broadcasting , fishing , music , cosmology and animals . I have links with other species, and study them as sentient examples of intelligence , but maybe they just like to be fed .  I have seen an inexplicable huge beam of orange light, perfectly rectangular, slant upwards into the night , and then telescope itself out of existence near Roseburg , Oregon over Highway 5... I was not high, it was not a reflection , not a hallucination from exhaustion , and it was completely silent...not the sort of technological 'event' in any way associated with ANY 'applied' science .  Unfortunately, I have not seen , heard nor sensed any other phenomena that are unexplainable . Contact me if you have ever had similar experiences . Please, no contact from 'Gayliens'...I like girls .

<center>"...links with other species..."

You best check state laws first before making things like this public. Still, I admire your forthrightness on this subject.

I changed my Profile so you might wish to read that first to see if you still want me to answer that question...

Well, maybe I'm obtuse this morning, but I don't see anything different that indicates any specifics.

You called me a youngster when I said I had just turned fifty, but maybe you were being kind.

Feel like I'm going out on a limb here, and dreading the potential catapult effect. But what's life without taking chances, eh?

I, too, have seen unusual, inexplicable lights in the night sky. I've searched the media afterwards and never found other reports.

I've stared down a mountain lion, on a quiet dirt road, caught in the headlights, with my side windows down. She seemed to be looking deep inside me. The reason I think it was a she is that, when we rounded the bend in the road and came upon her, my first instinct was fear for my year-old son, sitting up in his car seat, equally mesmerized by the sight. I think she sensed this insticnt, mother to mother, and respected that, and she regally walked away.

I've felt a caress on my shoulder, when I was home alone, washing dishes and rinsing them with my tears. I was thinking about my missed loved one, and I know what I felt.

So, I also like conversing about things that leave many of my acquaintances shaking their heads. I take it seriously. However, if, after you've read my profile, you feel I'm too old or too silly, kindly let me know, and I'll cease the efforts. I'll crawl back to the trunk. Or maybe I'll let the catapult go, it could be a wild ride.

P.S. Are you at all familiar with Michael Nesmith and the First National Band? Yes, the former Mike Nesmith of the Monkees, whose mom, by the way, invented either white-out or post-its. Anyway, they could be a fine addition to the Hayride some time. Good covers, good originals, quality music.

"Nothing in this universe happens just once...Nothing. Infinity goes in both directions. There is no unique event, no singular moment."

(apologies if you get two versions of this. stupid technology)

Is this Barbara Boerger ? I changed my profile to attract comments, but have only received them from khsu people and former khsu people...Good God ! But, since you have taken the time to write, I'll answer...thanks ! Well, I simply cannot air michael nesmith at this time. There are 2 reasons for this : One is that I have so much music to air, I do not , often, know where to start, and the other reason is that I would have to LISTEN to it to see if I thought it was what I wanted to air...as you probably have figured out , programmers make decisions as to what is to be aired, and this makes for creative freedom...requests I play when I think they fit in . So, if I find it, I'll listen, and then decide .
Sounds to me that the mountain lion hesitated because it was not hungry. You might have lucked out...they are not prone to sympathetic interaction except with their young...usually, and then that is dependent upon how old the offspring are...A feline that shows itself in the mountains is usually hungry . The feline might have been trying to figure out how to get to that juicy child in your car...and then , you . When you were washing the dishes later, your guardian angel might have been telling you something .
I guess talking about my experience in Oregon was a way to see if others had experienced something existential like that . I'll have to go up there and interview people . It's funny how much we forget throughout our lives only to have a few experiences burn themselves into our awareness . Thanks for your reply .
I bought some expensive scotch, and drank it with a friend ,and then , by myself. It was a pleasant experience in this climate, but I still have the flu/cold virus I have had for the last 2 weeks ! No help...
I've tried boiled wine with lime...no help, and beer...no help...now..., I'm a teetotaler . (No help there, either !)
I did not record my program, yesterday, properly, and so now I don't know how it sounded .
Best Wishes with CAG . I shall appear again (SOMEDAY)with the 'Accuracy, Fairness and Balance' routine concerning Thursday Night Talk and Sharon...I have spoken to Elizabeth about this, and seem to be making some headway with the philosophy of khsu being different than kpfa/kpfk pacifica radio...dw

Danno...here's a shot of you and Cup Cake the last time you appeared at Sadie's Tramp Shack. Was this the night you saw those "mysterious" lights in the sky?
