Sometimes I think that if you live long enough you get all the awards.  But last night was something special.  I received the BAFTA/LA award for Worldwide Contribution to Filmed Entertainment.  What was special about it was that Governor Schwarzenegger drove down from Sacramento to present it to me.  That was very thoughtful.

I worked with Arnold Schwarzenegger in his first movie, The Villian.  At that time, neither of us could imagine that he would become such an important movie star and then governor of California.  He was a great guy back then, and he has never changed.

Congratulations on your award, Mister Douglas. The Villain is a great comedy, and it has so many character actors in it! 'Course Cactus Jack and the handsome stranger had a tough time keeping my attention while Ann-Margret was on the screen.

Dear Sir,
I am so happy for you!I read the article on the "Wrap" and I learned that BAFTA/LA Award was a hit!It was your personal triumph!I read that you reached the podium dancing ..and in the end ,after receiving the Award from Governor Schwarzenegger you started singing and the audience followed you .And you won over all,as usual! I had the pleasure of hearing you singing in 1995,when you came to Milan to receive the Platinum Award to the career at Manzoni Theatre. You are so popular in Italy that my granddaughter Diana,in her baccalaureate year,is writing a thesis on your movie "Spartacus",as a film revealing the abject condition of slaves and the cruelty of the Roman Empire Dominion. In effect, I am a Latin teacher, and I sudied a lot of ancient Rome history and literature, but I realized how cruel my ancestors were only  looking at that long row of agonizing men on their crosses.I thank you for allowing me to take refuge in this oasis "far from the madding crowd". To the next! With much respect and love

Hello, Kirk.  I just heard the unfortunate news of the shotings in fort hood.  Of course the topic is that he was islam.  Why is islam seeming BEING usING GOD  as a eason to kill, or shout GLORY TO GOD, ETC...and then committ murder in the name of their SUPEIOR GOD.  It just seems to prove the opposite of love, peace, understanding.  I was raised with a separation of state and religion, and yu really do not allow religion to define the whole peson, but with this stuff happening, its hard not to be a bit cocerned about your safety, or downright scared, what do u think KIRK?

Congratilation to the award!
Yes it was very thoughtful, you maybe dont agree with me now but I want to be honest, I thought he should have because of the reason that in my eyes you are a bigger man and actor..But you are right the first movie I saw with him was conan babera on the tv not at the cinema. Then I saw twins with him and Danny Devito, a actor I like a lot, he is so funny! When I saw that one it made me want to watch The teminator because I saw he could really act, I didnt thought so in conan, strange isnt it..
Sometime you can see a movie and if its not a good one you dont want to watch others with that actor maybe and thats bad but I confess it have happend to me..
But enough of the..I am glade you got the prize so again congratz, you are woth it!
God bless you

Dear Mr Douglas,

You have been my favorite actor since 1959, when I first saw the Vikings.  I have watched that movie dozens of times.  My son who is 27 saw it for the first time this year.  We saved it for a special occassion when he bought his house and had his TV surround sound installed.

I went to the theater everytime it was relased.  I almost went to see it when I was in Germany even though I could not speak German.

You have deserved every award bestowed on you and you should have recieved many more.  Your portrayals in Paths of Glory, Lust for Life, Champion and so many others have I am sure inspired many many great actors.

You have been a very important person in my life.  I love you and I am so happy that you are such a thoughtful, generous, person and are such a positive influence.  You great acting is only surpassed by your being a tremendous human being.

I wish continued good health for you and your family.

I love you Kurt, I really, really do, but sweetie, Arnold is a Nazi straight up.  Have you not seen all the pictures of him with his SS Nazi belt buckle? Didn't you hear or read his quote about how he wants to be and wishes he could be a tyrant and dictator and how he looks up to his SS nazi father?

Sweetie Arnold is destroying California, maybe you and your family dont feel it because you are rich, but sweetie, please wake up.

Hi, Mr. Douglas, you are truly a wonderful actor.  I love how you always pour yourself into your characters.  I am so in love with your portrayal of Vincent Van Gogh in "Lust for Life."  I watch it every time it airs, which, unfortunately is not often enough.  I agree with you about Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I met him twice nearly 30 years ago, and he was such a warm and unpretentious person.  I was about 19 and interviewing him for a small publication and I remember how relaxed he made me feel.  I am grateful to be able to speak to you.  You are one of my favorite actors.  God bless you.  Linda
