Turn the Tables: Women and Technology In Hip Hop. A lecture by Tricia Rose, Professor of Africana Studies at Brown University.

Where are the female hip hop producers? Through a collection of interviews with underground female record producers, this documentary assesses the relative absence of women in the recording industry and speculates about the future of women in the game.

2:30-3:30PM Conversations with Spin
Held Auditorium
Conversation conducted by Imani Perry, Associate Professor of Law at Rutgers University
Hear the "herstory" that is rarely recounted. In a conversation with DJ Spinderella of the hip-hop trio Salt-N-Pepa, she will recount her experiences as a woman of technology and hip hop.

Featuring some of hip hop's most talented female DJs, the DJ Exhibition will broadcast the technical skillz of these women, giving them each a 20-minute set to rock the crowd. This event will close the conference with an evening of music and entertainment for all hip hop-heads.
