Well, hello there!  I see it's been about two years since my last post... geez, I must have been in some deep time warp!

But here it is, 2009, Chicago, and the Sears Tower is... no more.  Rather it's been replaced with the Willis Tower which, coincidentally, is the exact shape and size of the Sears Tower!  But it's NOT the Sears Tower... how confusing for those who don't keep up with the latest news!

Well, a few years ago I wrote a song about this very phenomenon:  the re-naming of our city landmarks by various corporations.  I call it my protest-slash-science-fiction song, because *some* of the things I'm protesting haven't happened... yet.

This song is called "Formerly Chicago," and it's posted right here on MySpace for your listening pleasure!  See if you can figure out what's real and what's just a nightmare!

And, btw... this song is on my new CD, Thoughts at an Intersection... have I mentioned I just finished my new CD, Thoughts at an Intersection?  It's now available on CD Baby, iTunes, and all the usual internet sites...

Anyways, I won't post my views on the re-naming phenom here, because it all comes out in the song... although this particular re-naming (Sears/Willis) happened after the song was already recorded (of course).  Please let me know your thoughts!

thanks,
Sue
