Unofficial Speech In Support of Gaza March From Spain By Alex Suarez October 2009-

From Sefarad, Al-Andaluz, Iberia, or also known as Spain, I announce openly & most publicly my support for the Gaza March, I call on all people in solidarity, all aware or concerned citizens of the world, to support the people of Gaza to start to organize & recruit groups to join the march. This is a march where we use our bodies, not just our spirit, physically in support of the people of Gaza, the children, future generations who suffer the blockade of Israel backed by the West. Our purpose is to demonstrate that the myth that the only solution is a violent one, is false, with non-violent methods in our protest we will try to unite & bring a end to the blockade, occupation & collective punishment of the Gazan & Palestinian people.

In order for a settlement to be brought there must be a negotiation of all parties including Hamas, her elected officials from Gaza must be respected, accepted into the international process. Sacrifices must be made. We may differ but we all want the same thing. Some of us want the 1 state solution. I personally think the 2 state solution is realistic, what most people want, along with a right of return of refugees no matter the generation, which means a Palestinian in Haifa for example, can return to their home in the West Bank, vice-versa, etc. Gaza must unite with the West Bank again, national unity with international backing is crucial in the cause. This process can only progress with unity.

Campaigns for the people to have the knowledge on how to fight in a functioning way, against Zionism, in all her forms, must be implemented, must be made clear. So in the final analysis, I have come to the conclusion not just with words, but with action, we can make a difference in this struggle, inspire, give hope to the people that change can come about.
