Current mood:  sleepy

...If you didn't know, I don't have thumbs (dewclaws don't count) and I kept asking her to update this thing. It doesn't help that we've been so busy playing that there just hasn't been time to sit down and tell her what to type. She says trying to keep up with me, or maybe she worded it more like 'trying to stay ahead of me,' is a full-time job. I like to get into all kinds of mischief these days, eating things I shouldn't and playing too rough.

Speaking of which, about a month ago, I was playing on the porch with my brother (Hagen - you might recognize him from my baby pictures as the guinea pig lookin' thing) and mommy came outside to say hello and noticed that something just wasn't right since I didn't run up to greet her. She called me and finally I got up and walked over to her on three legs. She scooped me up and took me upstairs to bed and cuddled with me for hours deciding if she should take me to the hospital or not. Her instincts told her that something was more than just bruised or pulled so she bundled me up and took me in. We took x-rays but the stupid developer broke while processing them, so we had to take more a few days later; my FOURTH set of x-rays. I probably glow in the dark by now. From the radiographs you could see my dislocated toe and a possible hairline fracture further up my foot, but if there was one, it was positioned perfectly to heal, so I just had to stay on crate rest for two weeks. IT WAS SO BORING. I was miserable. The first few days, I didn't want to play with anybody, even my god-mother (Gomo), I just wanted to snuggle with mommy.

About two weeks before that happened I started having tummy upsets and some digestive problems and mommy ran a fecal exam and didn't find anything, but when she did a Giardia test, it came back positive. I probably got it from swimming at the dog park which was SO worth it. Mommy walked me into the water and I swam to her then she walked me back out so I would know how to get in and out and then I came back in a few times before I hid behind a log and decided that I was drenched enough for one day. We went again at a pond near our house and I chased dozens of newts through the water and played fetch with sticks; I had to bring one home as a memento.

My mom's are trying to train my potty or something. They said I'm doing pretty well. I apparently am good at this for a couple hours and then they have to take me outside or I have accidents. But if I'm playing free for a long time I get excited and am too busy to go outside, so I just go where I am. This makes mommy not very happy when we've just come back inside. She said she thinks I'm trying to play a game by seeing what shapes emerge from my accident spots. Gomo thinks that I can predict the future in them. I'm pretty sure their just crazy, but one did have a dog biscuit in it so there may be some truth to this after all.

My sister Beacon gets more annoyed with me every day. I bite her face and steal her alone time and her toys. She puts me in my place but I still love her.

I have two new best friends! Addie is a 9 month old pup that owns the new doctor at the hospital and we have fun annoying Beacon and Addie's older brother Scruffy.  And the other is Kendra who is 7 months old and she is an only child, so we only get to annoy Beacon some more; she owns one of the people who comes to the hospital to get Kendra ouchy pokes with needles. We haven't all played together yet, but I think my friends will like each other.

The pink things in my mouth are sore, mommy says I'm 'teething,' and that I now have all of my big girl incisors and have lost a couple of my other teeth. I weigh just over 20 pounds now and don't gain very much from day to day anymore, everyone says all the weight is going to my tail. I'm still a lot smaller than my annoying brothers and sisters, but I can beat them up anyway. In another month or so I'm getting fixed. I didn't know I was broken, but mommy said so, therefore it's gotta be true. She said when they fix me they are gonna take off my dewclaws which sounds painful, but she promised she would be there with me so I know I can be strong for her. My hernia resolved itself, so I guess that's one less thing to 'fix.'

Okay, well it is 2 a.m. and mommy is begging me to let her go to sleep now, so I guess I'll allow that for now. We'll try to be better about keeping everything up to date in my big girl life.

Night all.
