On Saturday, November 28, The Athiarchists host an EP Release Party
at the WOW Hall with special guests Rob Olsen, Better Left Unsaid, Big
Hammer Theory, Overflow and SlayPainYerCBreeDCPro.
It’s getting to be a tradition at the WOW Hall. The
Athiarchists headline a show and give away lots of free stuff. This
time fans will be treated to a free copy of The Athiarchists new 5-song
CD and, of course, hot dogs. The Athiarchists have been firing up the
bar-b-que grill before shows for some time now and treating folks to
hot dogs. The grill has become so popular that this time around it’s
going to be located behind the fence, so you’ll have to buy a ticket to
eat a dog.
The Athiarchists are a two piece hardcore thrash metal band
consisting of Aaron Tunnell (guitar/bass, vocals) and The
Myrmidon/Animal (drums, vocals). The duo’s community spirit and DIY
work ethic have earned them many devoted fans and friends within the
music business. The Athiarchists have shared the stage with: Hatebreed,
Pro-Pain, Devildriver, Snot, Sworn Enemy, 3 Inches of Blood, Toxic
Holocaust, Straight Line Stitch, Better Left Unsaid and dozens of
others, and that’s not counting the parking lot shows!
In addition to their marathon headlining sets, The
Athiarchists have another tradition. Proud of their history as
everyone’s emergency opening act, The Athiarchists often both open and
close their shows. This time around the opener is SlayPainYerCBreeDC,
which is The Athiarchists’ Slayer Hatebreed Pro-Pain and AC/DC cover
band.
Ambitiously making their mark in music, Better Left Unsaid
(Modesto, California) is touring their much anticipated full length
debut album, The Fight Within. Better Left Unsaid pours energy and
unfettered emotion into their music and one can’t help but feel the raw
dynamic chemistry. With their ever-growing fan base and their need to
be heard, Better Left Unsaid has embarked on three national tours and
has had the honor of sharing the stage with Hatebreed, Killswitch
Engage, Bury Your Dead, DevilDriver, 3 Inches of Blood and countless
others. The Fight Within definitely culminates the years of hard work,
relentless touring, and most importantly the dedication to the music
they live for.
Big Hammer Theory is a new band based out of Eugene that brings
some excitement and energy to an already thriving metal music scene.
Three guitar players. "Are they crazy?" No, just determined to make
loud music that sounds totally rad! This project has been pushing metal
to the boundaries with straight rock grooves, insane lead lines, some
heavy riffing and loud thunder pumping bass.
The Athiarchists are going to be filming for a new Live DVD
as well as giving away the new three song EP from the new CD that
should be finished this spring/summer.
Overflow is a set featuring hip-hop performers Lomo, ASOL, K.I.
Design, Cerebral Coretext and Undermind.
And just before The Athiarchists hit the stage, Eugene
singer-songwriter Rob Olsen will treat us to an acoustic rendition of
his single “Touch It!”.
Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door. Doors open at 7:00
pm and the show starts at 7:30. Better get there early if you want a
hot dog.
