Current mood:  blah
seriously. and it kinda blows. they stole it at church too. here's the story.

we played a gig on a saturday morning, which is just weird in and of itself. a saying was passed down to me: "there is no rock before 6pm." anyway, it was a conference type thing so in between speakers we would play a couple songs. the speakers would talk for about 30 minutes or so, which meant a little downtime for whatever in our little back room. for cases such as that, a while ago i put all three seasons of my favorite tv show "arrested development" on my ipod. so i got to watch a few episodes that morning. at the end of the conference, we do the usual pack up/talk to people at the merch table thing and just kinda leave all our stuff in that back room. while we were gone, one of the ladies there who always takes such good care of us whenever we're at that particular church got all our stuff together and put it on one of the couches because someone was going to come in and vacuum or something. my ipod was just kind of hanging loose not in my bag, so she put my bag on the couch and my ipod on my bag.

we got all done and i went back to grab my stuff. everyone else already grabbed theirs and i was the last. i grabbed my bag thinking my ipod was in there, but i found out later it wasn't. we ended up on our way back to the freeway before i realized i didn't have it. we went back, i checked all over the room, asked people who were around and came to the conclusion that it had in fact been stolen. i guess some of the people who were cleaning up weren't with the church but were community service people or volunteers from somewhere or something.

how did i take it? better than you might think. i was very calm and tried not to make it a big deal. i can honestly say that had it been almost any other church i would have probably reacted quite differently. fortunately this was one of the few places that goes above and beyond to take care of us. we don't know why, but they do. once again, they were really cool about everything and very apologetic about it happening.

i wasn't really too bummed out about it until today when i went to do laundry. typically, i'll watch a couple episodes of "arrested" while i wait around at the laundromat. but there was no laughter today.

oh well. christmas is coming
