Ok people, there’s good news and there’s bad news.
The good news is that we’ll be entering the studio in March to record our second ep. The bad news is that we’re all far too lazy to design our own artwork, so we’re throwing down the gauntlet to you, our talented legion of fans. If you’re a dab hand with a brush, pencil, charcoal, or even one of those new-fangled drawing programs we’ve been hearing so much about, we wanna see what you got. All styles are welcome, although extra points may be given to anyone who chooses to portray the band as bad-ass superheroes. (Please note, as we don’t just want a series of pictures of ourselves as superheroes, extra points will not, in fact, be given to these entries. Feel free to send ‘em in anyway though)
To get the ball rolling, Chris, our bass-player, has contributed the first entry, which we’ve included here as a rough guide of what not to do.
While, at first glance, this entry appears to be perfectly acceptable, Chris had made two crucial mistakes:
1. The design is for a CD cover, and therefore needs to fit certain dimensions: 119.5mm in height, and 120.5mm in width. Chris has ignored this, and therefore rendered his hours of work unusable.
2. His entry is rubbish.
So there you have it. As long as you steer clear of these mistakes you should be fine. Either get your image online and send us a link, post in our competition blog or if you ask really nicely you can have an address to post it to. Do that by March 7th, and the winner will be announced shortly before the release of the ep.
So what are you waiting for? We’re eagerly awaiting the massive influx of awesome art, and March is approaching even as you read this bulletin. Get drawing, people!
That is all.
