We've been quivering in anticipation of getting to unleash the extraordinary new Faunts album "Feel.Love.Thinking.Of." upon the world for a while now, and now we finally can! The album comes out today on iTunes (it'll be out in stores February 17), and it's really, really, really good. At once symphonic and sprawling; ambient, yet driving, "Feel.Love.Thinking.Of." is the culmination of a year of touring, recording, and meticulous exploration of the band's transcendent imagination. With its effervescent guitars, mathematic loops and synthesizers, surging drums, and seemingly nomadic bass lines, this album is a beautiful expression of Faunts' painstaking attention to instrumentation and arrangement. We think it's the best album yet from these supremely talented Canadians.

ASOBI SEKSU'S NEW ALBUM "HUSH" OUT SOON

We'd be remiss in our duties if we didn't mention that Asobi Seksu's third album, entitled "Hush", is *also* coming out on February 17, via our good friends at the Polyvinyl Record Co. We've had the good fortune to hear "Hush", and can tell you it's a very lovely album and a must-have for fans of Asobi Seksu - they continue to grow and develop as a band, with spectacular results. And if you're just discovering Asobi Seksu for the first time, we'd like to remind you that Asobi Seksu's first two albums, both their self-titled debut and their sophomore masterpiece "Citrus", are both available through Friendly Fire... and the latter is available not only on CD but also on 180-gram gatefold vinyl. Rad.

FRIENDLY FIRE FEATURED IN BILLBOARD MAGAZINE

Ok, can we brag? We don't really read Billboard Magazine that much, to be honest - but it's still a tremendous honor to be listed as one of the "next big indie labels" in their most recent issue. We're a member of the "Indie Class of 2009" alongside such distinguished company as Barsuk and Frenchkiss Records - pretty exciting considering that, until not too long ago, we ran the label out of a bedroom in a fourth-floor walk-up in Brooklyn. To paraphrase the cigarette ad: we've come a long way, baby. And we have lots and lots of exciting stuff in store for 2009... thanks as always for supporting independent record labels, and we truly hope you enjoy the music.
