Again, fairly generic kung fu film, but that's like saying "fairly generic waterslide." It doesn't mean it's not a lot of fun.
Thank god for dubbing. Good bad dubbing can carry you through all the slack scenes on a cloud of levity. There's some great Foley chatter too, mainly people repeating the same thing in different wordings. There was one great example in the casino that my hatchet-afflicted memory didn't retain. Anyone?
The end fight is really good without being too long. I loved how INTO IT the crowd was when those three hatchets lodged in Pai Lai Lee's corrupt chest cavity.
It seems to me that a guy with a pistol could make a ton of money in China. You would have thought that guy had a nuclear flamethrower!
