During and after Walden I will continue in my chosen goals of reforming education from two and up (if not from the womb, as some noetic scientists suggest), by writing grants to fund worthy alternatives in the form of intergenerational Design by TEAMS. I will be teaching these workshops and have been invited to a July 2009 symposium on education in the Americas to be held in Mexico City. I would also like to share my work in Canada and France. From the grass roots of parental care and the feedback loops that TEAMS create among all stakeholders, Self-Designed rubrics can easily replace artificial assessments of only two types of at least eight forms of intelligence that standard testing now attempts to measure using static analysis in a mutable world. This will encourage open systems that can grow and evolve with their students. In order to accomplish social change, one must provide a positive alternative to outmoded educational paradigms that did not consider the needs of the whole child. I will be designing simulation games that teach two and up how to read using music as the carrier and art and sacred geometry in a natural world as the user interface. I have two alphabet books of poetry that will be songs, and some volunteers in other countries who will translate these games into other languages and cultural and musical games that teach cooperation and reward teamwork rather than violence. I will appreciate hearing from anyone else who might like to be included when I write grants so that they can conduct research in this paradigm as well. I am funding a family farm Model Project and a non-profit research institute and offering web pages free to budding artists, musicians and native craftspeople. In order to continue cultural traditions in a changing world, I will offer a College of Synthesis free online as a film and music school for networking and sharing and archiving of traditional and creative talents in a world too often inundated with greed instead of compassion. I chose Walden because I felt it embodied many of the principles I already held dear.
