For those of you who are following Angels' recent activity on Modlife, you already know this, but here is an article from Ultimate Guitar about the LOVE trailer, movie, and record:Angels & Airwaves Launch Love Trailer
Directed by William Eubank, a friend of frontman Tom DeLonge, the movie will feature music from the band's upcoming album of the same name.
The album and movie are both scheduled for release in February 2010.
According to the page on Apple Trailers the movie will be distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment, and a theatrical release has been confirmed. Work on the sci-fi movie began in 2006, and it was originally scheduled for a release alongside AVA's second album I-Empire.
In an interview with Billboard.com DeLonge called the project "super
conceptual and highbrow in many ways, very artistic, very Stanley
Kubrick... But it's not a rock opera. It's a very modern version of
what could happen when you blend the film industry and the music
industry together in a very, very arty, kind of cool way with
professionals involved all along the path."
The Love album will be released for free download on Valentine's Day, 2010.
The music of "Love" will have a prog-rock kind of flavor. "It's like blending Radiohead and U2 together with these kind of Pink Floyd movements," DeLonge explains. "Things
happen unpredictably and take you to these epic soundscapes. It's very
much in the spirit of Angels & Airwaves, but it sounds way, way
more thought-out and way more ambitious."
