Adam Goldstein could have made far better choices. I'm sure surviving a plane wreck while others died is traumatic, but you survived. Be happy. The same thing happened to Kirk Douglas in his SEVENTIES! (I think) and he's still around at 92.

It was a really bad decision for DJ AM, pushing 40, to fall in love-which is apparently what he did-with a 22 year old girl. For any guy pushing that age to have such an ego problem that he must have a younger girl, is a recipe for disaster. There's two likely scenarios-the girl is a social climber/gold digger and she will act accordingly and use the relationship for opportunities. This will further damage the guy's ego, especially if he's got substance abuse issues. The other scenario is she's 22-she really doesn't want to be tied down to a 36 year old guy because she's still learning about herself-both having fun and finding out what she's capable of and where she wants to go in life. It's unrealistic to expect her to devote a huge chunk of time to someone who has far different pursuits. And in this case, it's really unfair to her as well because now she's dealing with the trauma of this guy committing suicide, essentially, while displaying photos of her nearby. SHE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG-other than get involved over her head with a guy that really didn't have her best interests at heart to start with, or he would have been her friend-not her boyfriend, at least not on a committed basis. He had achieved a level of success in a very tough industry (I was a good radio disc jockey, but I sort of suck at mixing) and that is a huge reason to celebrate life. I don't know how much Dr. Drew had to do with any of this, but I think it's a really bad idea to (a) use a substance abuse doctor known for publicity (b) unethical for that doctor to talk about your treatment publicly. That's my main issue with Dr. Drew-treating patients in public is unethical as is diagnosing people you've never met-i.e, any Lovelines caller, celebrities like Tom Cruise, etc. My psychiatrist who practices in Beverly Hills and is a Lupus expert (a disease Michael Jackson had) would have been a terrific choice to treat Michael Jackson-provided he were willing. A problem arises, however, when a douchebag like Dr. Arnold Klein is making the decisions for Jackson. That would have made it more difficult for Dr. Shapiro to treat him and he probably never did. But because he’s ethical, unlike Dr. Klein and Dr. Drew, you would never have heard about it if he did.

Is Dr. Drew an asshole? You decide. When two patients in a hospital die, he immediately denies any responsibility-despite the fact they checked into that hospital just because of HIM. "I hold him responsible", quotes Alex Clyburn's mother, a former neuropsychiatric nursing supervisor at UCLA, who would know about these things. But, when the patient is a CELEBRITY and they die, suddenly Dr. Drew is their "best friend"...

Dr. Drew Pinsky is one huge hypocrite. Not only does he stick substance abuse patients on television for financial gain AND then writes books about why it's wrong to do so-he also immediately dodged any responsibility when two patients died within 24 hours in April 2008 on the Las Encinas Hospital unit he co-chairs-this DESPITE THE FACT these patients checked in because they thought Dr. Drew could help them-just because of HIM. In reality, he didn't even know his unit was being so poorly run a patient would be dead for almost 12 hours before anyone checked on him. !80$ shittt i went to monster massive in LA (80k+) people and it was only like 80$ and that shit was from 7pm to 4am 180 to see 3 band for what 3 hours is soo not worth it i saw the number 1 dj in the world and i shook his hand.
