All of you Ghouls and fiends, oh I mean myspace friends: Don't forget to set your clocks forward this weekend as it's the start of daylight savings time this Sunday morning, March 8, at 2:00 AM. Thinking about daylight gave me cause to write a bit of prose that I want to share with you from the book. It's about the start of a new day and I hope it helps jump start your daylight savings time week.
A new day before the shattered dawn By morning be astir preparing defense fore the harvest of night Your mind quickening to the eros of a new day Eyes seduced by a comely mistress brother bid your horses stay For twilight cometh and your due it must be paid Make this the morning of innocent beginning Warriors mighty gather charms and talisman that do battle fear For come the eve brave men die and wounded will lay near while only those truth be known and spirit ready slip clear of the sticky web tangled in blood clotted with the retched power of that undead thing familiar in its hauntings in man's mind blotted Eris reins from a fortress built of black nights of sprits strangled and rotted Beg the tides take you make sail retreat from her lands No pure vessel dare enter her shore every sailor be a stranger no pure heart welcomes the sting of her icy hands Silence ascends and fear never ends from the grace of perfect danger Mind racing beyond imagination wildly grasping at the wheel of redemption Until the veil of the unknown yields And the morning of familiar begins both believer and non pray forgiveness for past sins Eris the dark deity her beauty beguiles from mankind she takes her wiles To Eris birth is a battle ground made red a field of her tortured children now dead
Pity the souls plucked like feathers from a brilliant swan a biter surprise to the hungry eye the light of a shattered dawn like a foul with torn wings the countenance of morning's dim sun struggling on the horizon to defy the female nemesis lungs draw a struggling breath this new day fore warned tonight belongs to Eris
