Palm Springs Pride Festival Highlights

Greater Palm Springs Pride is fast approaching, slated for the weekend of November 7th and 8th. With the theme "Your Rights-Our Rights-Human Rights," the events of weekend celebrate the diversity of the LBGT community and the advancement of human rights in our society. The two day Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 7th and 8th at Palm Springs Stadium in Sunrise Park, Sunrise Way and Baristo Road in Palm Springs.

Entertainment
A fabulous lineup of entertainers will be featured at the Festival's Main Stage including but not limited to, the following headliners:

Erika Jayne
Sabrina Johnston
Billy Dortch
Pepper Mashay
Mona Caywood


This year the Dance Tent will be fashioned as a T Dance, featuring DJ Asha and DJ Olga on Saturday from 1pm to 5pm. DJ Asha and DJ Olga will also be spinning at the Gloss Dance Party at Hotel Zoso on Saturday evening from 9pm to 2am in the Marquis Room. DJ David Wade will be hosting the Dance Tent on Sunday from 1pm to 5pm.

Admission to the festival covers participation and viewing of all entertainment venues.

Authors' Village
The popular Authors' Village tent at Pride this year will feature noted GLBT writers, to sign books, including William J. Mann, Michael Thoms Ford, Alex Ironrod, Aiden Shaw and others. The Authors' Village is sponsored by Q Trading Company in Palm Springs, and featured authors' books and others will be available for sale at the festival.

Thirsty?Just Ask for Bottled Water!
A local sponsor has generously donated bottled water to be made available at the festival, free of charge.

A Gift to Festival Participants from Author Patricia Nell Warren
Noted author Patricia Nell Warren, writer of the acclaimed novel, The Front Runner, and her business partner, Tyler St. Mark, have pledged, as a personal gift to the participants of the Festival, 2,000 copies of Ms. Warren's novel, Harlan's Race, a Lambda bestseller for over a year and landmark sequel to The Front Runner as a gift to festival participants while supplies last.

Pride History Exhibit
The festival will include an archival tent featuring video presentations and photographic exhibits on the history of GLBT Pride globally, nationally and locally, provided by local community organizer and activist, Melinda Tremaglio.

The Greater Palm Springs Pride Festival will take place from 10am to 8pm on Saturday, November 7th and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday, November 8th. Tickets to the Festival are $15 per day and $20 for a two-day pass. Tickets may be purchased at the festival entrance, off the south end of the library parking lot, or online at www.pspride.org The Greater Palm Springs Pride Parade will commence at 10 am on Sunday, November 8th, down Palm Canyon Drive, between Alejo and Ramon Road in Palm Springs.
