When was the last time you called your state legislator? When did you last stop in to visit? Think you could convince your friends to join you at the statehouse in Harrisburg to advocate for LGBT equality? This August and September Equality Advocates is holding regional Advocacy Workshops throughout Pennsylvania geared to those of us with a desire to more effectively impact change for LGBT individuals in the state. If you are involved at a local level, but want to learn more about the current non-discrimination legislation being considered in Harrisburg and how to organize your friends and family to pass statewide protections for LGBT individuals, we encourage you to join us for the workshop! Experienced LGBT-activists and community leaders will facilitate a hands-on and interactive training designed specifically to build advocacy and organizing skills around LGBT issues. Don't miss this opportunity to gain the necessary skills required to effectively advocate for change in Harrisburg.

Training materials and light refreshments will be provided.

For more information on the workshops or to RSVP, please contact Jake Kaskey at jkaskey@equalitypa.org or 1-866-LGBTLAW ext. 14.

The meeting in Wilkes-Barre was very informative. Jake Kaskey did a great job getting people up to speed on recent legislative efforts and records of legislators around the region as well as stressing some persuasive talking points when advocating for the current non-discrimination legislative bill. Good turn out with some very seasoned veterans in gay activism sharing their impression of the political landscape in Northeastern Pennsylvania. So glad I went and you will be too.
