What’s up everyone, just letting ya in on what’s been going on lately in Budcarrolland. We have finally found the proper producer for our upcoming record that we have been in the process of recording for, like, a year now. (The first attempts to record ourselves were met with varying successes). Eddie Ashworth, who has recorded Sublime (ya know the CD that has been playing in frathouses and drug dealers houses for the last decade), Pennywise (a personal favorite punk band), Long Beach Dub Allstars, Izzy Stradlin, and even Dio, has agreed to sign on and become the fourth Southern Soul for a little while. He IS from southern California after all. We just got back from his studio in Athens after recording a four song EP that we will be selling at all of our upcoming shows. Im my personal untrained opinion, it kicks ass. We will be entering the studio for the complete record starting June 23rd, so we should have it out by the end of the summer.
In other gig news we have more than a few gigs coming up (I mean we gotta pay for this damn thing somehow) APRIL 5TH AT THE V CLUB OPENING FOR THE DAVISSON BROS. That show will also be the 2nd Anniversary Celebration of our beloved V Club. Come out and party with the Patrick’s and show our appreciation for all their help with our humble little scene.
--APRIL 20TH AT FLUID (FORMER MONKEYBAR) OPENING FOR EKOOSTIC HOOKAH IN OUR ANNUAL 4/20 BASH (DONATIONS ARE ACCEPTED, ENCOURAGED AND APPRECIATED) --JUNE 22ND THE festivALL FESTIVAL IN CHARLESTON AT THE COONSKIN AMPITHEATER OPENING FOR THE UNKNOW HINSON
Oh yeah, we also recently played as Jeff Ellis’s back up band on his upcoming record (also produced by the above mentioned Eddie Ashworth) and it should be released soon. We’ll also be playing some live shows with him as well. It will be good.
Anyway that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it, because no one saw me, and you can’t prove shit.
PS Vote fo Barack Obama
