The
band that played over 1000 shows in 10 years, spawned multiple,
critically acclaimed recordings and hit singles have remained busy
since their breakup in September 2008. Spending almost a year working
closely with Pezwa Films on their new live DVD/CD package - Melbourne's
much loved power trio Antiskeptic look set to immortalize their
legendary live presence in style. Recorded
at their farewell show in Melbourne's Hi-Fi Bar; the DVD/CD will
clearly show Antiskeptic taking the same untamed raw energy and emotion
that saw them become a touring staple who shared the stage with the
likes of Midnight Oil, Jimmy Eat World, Eskimo Joe, Dashboard
Confessional and Anberlin.
To
release the DVD/CD - titled 'Goodbye Goodnight', the band found a new
posthumous home with El Shaddai Records - The same label that brought
to light Australian heavy hitters Forgiven Rival and House vs
Hurricane.
“We have been fans of Antiskeptic since we were kids
listening to them back in ‘99, so to have them as part of the El
Shaddai Records family is a great honour” said label President Phil
Kennedy.
On working with El Shaddai Records, front man Andrew Kitchen
said,
“I cannot wait until the release of the DVD/CD – it’s going to be
a far greater legacy and tombstone than I ever thought possible. And
working with El Shaddai has been both inspirational and educational
from a band that thought it had been there and done that”.
The
band hopes to release the DVD/CD package with El Shaddai Records early
2010 with a few special extras.
“We've worked really hard to put
something special together for the fans - From footage captured over
the years, to the artwork and packaging we've spared no expense in
making it the ultimate Antiskeptic collector's piece.” said drummer
Nick Coppin. This along with the killer live show - which featured
every one of the bands singles as well as fan favourites and an
emotional encore, will make the DVD/CD a must have package for both
die-hard fans and casual listeners alike.
