Since I was 18, fresh out of highschool, set free in the world, I can't explain what it was but I wanted to make a difference to the game, the people of the game, and the world. Never thought about myself, never thought of getting paid. Got my education over the years and got qualified with a degree in Multimedia.

Throughout these years I stepped up when the game was calling me. The game in Australia needed love, it needed the players to step up and give back to the game that gave life to us. The game that made our hearts beat was in need of a heartbeat itself. Sitting in my room, thinking, contemplating, dreaming of the possibilities of what I could do for the game in Australia. Putting pen to paper, dreams to pen, then believing this ink and paper had power.

I set out to achieve, I didn't set out to just try. Worked hard on a website, built some respect for the dream I had was now shared by thousands across the nation. Still dreaming, staying positive, not yet knowing, what was to come. Nike came calling, I answered and responded. This foundation that I created was now in a position to be sponsored by the world's biggest sports name. Remember, Nike came calling. They saw the MSF website, they knew. Then it all started rolling. Meetings, proposals, plans and belief. Nike got behind us while we stepped up for the game. It was our calling. Not the call from Nike but the call from the game.

I thought back to the good days of basketball when I was young. Basketball on TV, all over the media. Basketball in schools, and the annual 3on3 tournament at the Melbourne Show. For lack of sponsorship reasons that tournament never continued. I had a dream in my mind, to bring that great tournament back to life. The memories and the feelings I had inspired me to keep playing, so I knew it had to be brought back. Nike believed us. The King of the Court Basketball Tournament was born. It all started rolling. Working for no pay but working for the game.

Australia's next biggest festival, Moomba, they came calling. They knew. 2005 March, King of the Court continued in the city of Melbourne at Moomba Waterfest. MSF was rolling, basketball was coming back and MSF was a big part of it. As time went by, Nike had to let go. They didn't have to, but they decided to. Soccer needed their money, or they needed Soccer's money, either way, they didn't feel the need to continue King of the Court. But King of the Court was all about the heart of MSF, without the heart, there's nothing.

Sponsors were hard to come by for a game in Australia that was still fighting for mainstream acceptance. We fought on. our next goal shifted back to our first goal, influencing a council in Melbourne to upgrade the Prahran Park basketball court. We knew, if this was to come true, the game and the players would feel the impact for years to come. We were about to drop a rock in a pond and watch the ripple effect.

It took time, persistance, undeniable heart and belief, to finally get the council to approve the basketball court upgrade. 12 months later, 70,000 government dollars later, Prahran Park was brought to life. Once again we did our part for the game.

In 2007 MSF has plans to expand. Talking to the Melbourne Show to lock in King of the Court 3 is on top of our list. Basketball camps with coaches who have played US college ball is also on our list. Camps in Melbourne, Sydney, and beyond. Coaching basketball to kids in schools is on our list, building the next generation of players, the next generation of MSF ambassadors. 2007 is a big year for MSF. And for us guys behind the name, while we must chase more than one goal, more than one career, we always do all we can to keep MSF and the game alive. MSF and the game need more people to step it up and become basketball visionaries.

Without people who give back to the game, there is no game.
