Here's the deal:
There's one thing that annoys me more than anything - being interested in something when history has shown, time and again, that it's a mistake.
Right now, this thing I'm doing that's wrong is Galactic Civilizations 2.
See, it's one of those games that wants the player to do everything at the same time, and then screws you because you didn't have the time to do one or two of 'em. Congrats, your civilization is profitable and this and that and that... but hey, you didn't build up an army! YOU FAIL!
I even bought the Latest expansion, fooling myself into assuming that some of the problems I've had would be corrected. Most were, by causing them to be even BIGGER problems, adding a new list of Things That Must Be Done In Order To Survive.
And to make matters worse, when I do slog through it, and begin to do well... the game bores the shit out of me.
Of course, the worst thing is that I can't stop wanting to play it. I'm writing this now to avoid it. If I take long enough to do it - and read about the game long enough - I'll get tired enough to go to bed.
I'll fail, of course.
Don't do anything stupid.
