Soon, our bodies will have reached such an evolutionary
peak, that all world records will have been achieved, and attaining new ones
will be impossible. Next, the conscious and fruitful mind will replace the
vanity driven obsessions we hold with our bodies. By doing so, we shall venture
into the next level of our existence. Who needs competition when you already
know your opponent’s next move? Only through pure conscious though will we
attain a new world record.
As I begin to explore our beautiful planet, I’ve discovered that I will
only understand our true reality by experiencing it on my own. Never let anyone do your thinking for
you. My only hope is that we can break away from the shackles of money and
other false truths, in hopes of learning to “LIVE,” rather than “make a living.”
Easier said than done, but still a path worth engaging.
As I'm sure you know by now, cronkite satellite is a one man band with a full band sound. A Boss
RC-50 loop station is used to create his (my) unique style of music live, and also,
in the studio. Also used to record the album "New World Record" was a basic acoustic guitar, an AKG
Perception 400 condenser mic, a BOSS SP-202 Dr. Sampler, a Korg Electribe SX,
various hand drums, a harmonica, a hand held digital recorder (Used mostly in Kerala, India and heard at the end of "Writes Me"), a few King
Fisher beers, and a lot of patience. New World Record was written, produced, recorded, mixed, and
mastered by cronkite satellite, using only the program “Garageband.” I know the album has some "pops and clicks" here and there (which I tried to medic), but because I never went to school for sound engineering, my ability met its match. However, I can rest my head at night knowing that my music is REAL, it came from my soul, and it's not over produced. It’s worth
noting that there is NO auto tuning on this album (not to insinuate that I have
any idea how to sing, but you get my point).
Here's a photo of my "Studio," while I recorded "New World Record". It's located in the spare room of my flat in Doha, Qatar.
I’d like to thank my amazing AND sexy wife Renee for her constant support, inspiration and for getting me off my lazy ass to record an album that represents my musical growth (don't get me wrong, my previous albums are still good, but "New World Record" is just so much more focused).
I can’t believe you read this… You are a true fan.
Thank
you for supporting the arts!
