Press Conference Held At Augusta Day Laborer Site
AUGUSTA, GA - Bill Greene, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress, held a press conference today at a notorious illegal immigrant "day laborer" site in downtown Augusta. He was joined by the founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, Chris Simcox.
"As a Minuteman myself, I've been to the Mexican border and seen the human tsunami pouring across our open borders," said Bill Greene, considered to be the leading conservative candidate in the special election to fill the late Charlie Norwood's seat. "What we see here today is simply a result of the failure of our federal government to secure our borders. National policies have local results -- and here in Augusta, that result is illegal immigrants on our streets, and no one doing anything about it."
"The problem of illegal alien day laborer sites is one that the local county commissioners should have taken care of years ago," stated Minuteman founder Chris Simcox. "Some of Bill Greene's opponents have only recently discovered that illegal immigration is even a problem. I've endorsed Bill Greene for Congress, because he's fought the good fight against illegal immigration, and for securing the borders, for many years now. We can trust that he won't forget the issue when he gets to Washington, D.C., like too many politicians do."
Greene and Simcox also spoke at a special meeting of the Georgia Minuteman Chapter on Friday night, and will be speaking at a "Rally Against Illegal Immigration" at Bill Greene for Congress campaign headquarters on Saturday, April 14th, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., at 1819 N. Elm Street in downtown Commerce, Georgia.
Bill Greene, president of the million-member conservative activist organization RightMarch.com, is a Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in the June 19 special election for Georgia's Tenth District. For more information, visit www.BillGreeneForCongress.com.
