I wrote this as a response to a forum where an author of a sordid tell-all book motives were question. I do not condone or condemn her. These are just my thoughts.

I think it is all about your individual legacy. It is not the dates on the headstone that will define you; it is the undertaking and the enterprise with which you utilize the time which represents the dash in between the dates.

Before I published, I asked myself an important question. What would I want my legacy to be? I just want to say as a woman, lady, mother, wife, daughter, sister, human being, etc. I think about what my contribution to the world and conversation of life will be now and in the future. Books are forever and there is a possibility that anything you publish may surface many years later. Do you stand by it? I wouldn’t write anything that I would be squeamish having any of the people in my life read, if they are mature enough and truly ready to see my work separate from and outside of the scope of our relationship.

I truly hope all authors consider all of these things before they publish. JUST FOOD FOR THOUGHT: These are just my thoughts and not a judgement of any kind.

Stay blessed and inspired!

As an amatauer Author, I write what inspires me always have. Why should I be ashamed in one of my creations even thousands of years from now if someone were to happen to read it, sure by then till I die some of my 'views', 'ideologies' may change but I am sure those will be scribed down as well. I will always stand by what heart and mind say to me.
For that will define me :)

Happy Holidays

When I write, I often think about what readers are going to take from it. I've made it my mission to create positive stories because I want to inspire my readers to take positive action in their lives.

A writer has to really think about what they create and what impact it's going to have on others. Ther'e s a chance these books are going to be around for years to come; there's a chance they'll be gone six months from now. A book is a reflection not only of its time, but it's author; I often ask myself: Is this the kind of story I want to say I wrote? Is this the reflction of the world I want to represent to future societies? Is this literature what I want to contribute to my community? And more importantly Does this literature I'm contributing help to improve the quality of life in my community? The contents on the page often reflect the content of a person's character.

Personally, I try to write stuff I can stand by and be proud of and I don't mind anyone seeing what I have written. I personally belive once a story is complete the author has to let go of it and move on to the next story; it's the only way to grow in the craft of writing.
