JASON WINTERS

Music is the soundtrack to life! From an early age Jason has been inspired by the sounds around him, pushing and pulling his mind and body in so many directions. He learned classical piano and percussion, which opened many doors and started an insatiable appetite to explore the boundless world music has to offer. Eventually the overwhelming need to express this arena through the physical form took hold. Studying and performing with Southern Ballet Theater, New World School of the Arts, Miami City Ballet, and The Demetrius Klein Dance Ensemble, helped to build an incredible classical and modern dance education. Jason's transition to the professional world provided him the opportunity to perform, assist, and eventually choreograph with a wide variety of influential people, truly shaping his artistry and approach to movement. A few of these artists being Mia Michaels, Marc Dendy, Christopher Flemming, Lloyd Riggins, Barry Lather, & Tina Landau. Additionally for world wide companies such as: Sol Kerzner's Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas; Cirque de Soleil of Montreal; Radio City Music Hall Productions, New York; The Walt Disney World Company, Orlando; The Grammy Awards and numerous Superbowl halftime shows, with artists such as Madonna, Eminem, Elton John, NSYNC, Britney Spears, Aerosmith, Mary J. Blige, Moby and The Blue Man Group. Last year, he was priviledged to be part of the original creative team behind Broadway's "The Pirate Queen," the enormous follow up to "Les Miserables" and "Miss Saigon." Soon after, at Mia Michaels request, Jason was asked to assist with Cirque De Soleil's unprecedented spectacle "Delirium", the largest arena tour in history, having covered North America in 2006 and 2007, and now in Europe and Japan in 2008.

Most Recently, Jason was invited to be co-artistic director of "OMEN", one of the hottest new contemporary dance companies in America, as well as setting solo works on principle dancers in companies such as The Paul Taylor Dance Company and The Tokyo National Ballet. Today, Jason is one of the most sought after contemporary choreographers/teachers for numerous master classes and conventions around the world, with a permanent faculty position at STEPS on Broadway in New York City, The Gold School, Boston, Massachusetts, and on DanceFuzion, Canada.

The unique clash brought about by combining so many traits of the classical world with the ever-growing electronic music revolution has forever inspired him to do the same through contemporary movement.

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." Theodore Roosevelt 26th president of US (1858 - 1919)
