Current mood:  amused
Hello everyone-

Someday, we are going to master the art of the "tour diary."  We are also gonna master the art of "video diaries..."   O well, I'm trying!  If we had a big enough touring vehicle I'd totally take an extra person with us to cover the video stuff!  I have so many cool ideas, it just seems impossible to get em and all of us are REALLY bad at doing it.

SOOOO anyways,  we had an AWESOME trip down and around Florida this past weekend.  All the shows did well- very well for an unsigned band like ourselves-  basically all the shows had between 90 and 140 people paid!  That means with bands and guests we were rocking to over 100 people per show!  TAKE THAT!  Thank you sooooo much to everyone who made this possible:  Nick from The Dugout, Dan Smyth, Jen from 1982 + The Skandals, 22nd Base, Plan Z, The Pants, Victims of Circumstance, The Long Johns, H1N1, Suckerfish, Danny Smooth, Along The Lines Of, No More, The Duppies, Jump Radar, and Shotgun Diplomacy for helping us out with this!  YES thats alot of people, but everyone had a part- even if they were just playing the show!  Also special thanks to Nadar, Graham + Stephen Sutton, and Tyler for giving us places to stay.  Also thanks to Adam Donaldson for watching over Paul's Jeep in Pensacola!

LAST but not least-  I wanted to say thanks to Nick from 22nd Base, Graham and Steven Sutton, Woody Bond, Tony Farah, Danny and Jen of No More, and ANYONE else who helped us backline gear on this trip.  Without a real good touring vehicle-  yall saved our asses and helped us keep this cost effective!  I can't say thanks enough because without all that- we really would have been stuck.

So here we go:

We left New Orleans about 3 hours later then we wanted to on Thursday and quickly realized we were not gonna make it all the way to Gainesville before the sun came up.  We got Paul around midnight in Pensacola and squeezed into our tight vehicle for the trip!  How we pulled this off I really don't know:

cramin it in

So we kept driving and realized we couldn't start this trip by staying awake through sunrise on the first day so we rudely asked our good buddy Nadar to put us up for the night.  AS ALWAYS!  Nadar took care of us.  We crashed for just a few hours and then proceeded to drive all the way to Miami.  On our way we saw quite a few traffic accidents.  One car was on fire right outside of New Orleans, some cars broken down, one car rolled up against a sign, etc, etc... and each time Clay would say "I hope that doesn't happen to us!"   O SHIT- yea, my bad--  SPECIAL THANKS to Clay for filling in for Austin on this trip.  He did awesome and we really had a good time with him.  Clay plays bass in Joystick and anyone who makes it to the next 3 shows can meet him.  So anyways, that was pretty humorous-  we just kept driving and driving and driving...

We arrived in Miami past load in- but thankfully everyone understood.  Traffic was awful!  I hate being late, so I was calling/texting like a madman to keep people informed...  well we got there and started loading in/cooking and waiting for everyone else to get to.  The Dugout is a 300-400 capacity venue out by the airport in Miami.  I really like this place.  The people that run it are great and they are slowly upgrading the PA!  It was 10x better this time then it was back in June.  AND SO WAS THE SHOW!  THe audience grew from last time as well and we really had a great crowd.  We were able to try a few new songs out and get Clay's jitters out of the way.  Good response-  We had some guest horns for Push Push Push as well as some good ol stage fun as usual:  Here's a pic of Rachit having "fun"

Hahahahahahaha

And here's some pics of us doing our typical tour cooking! We gotta eat!

So anyways- the show went great. Great turnout and I must say the Miami scene is definitely growing!
Mad props to The Skandals, The Dugout, 22nd Base, Plan Z, and a few other bands for making that happen
After the show, we said our goodbyes and thank yous are the Sutton's put us up for a night.
It was a pretty early night for me and I quickly hit the hay- good times in Miami. I like it down there.

SATURDAY Oct 3rd.

We woke up in Miami Springs and some of us showered, some of us didn't. Everyone else who crashed over
were still sleeping so I left a nice thank you note! We really appreciate everything!!! We repacked the car
and headed to a nearby Publix to get some breakfast. We ended up eating some honeydew, grapes, and
cereal bars (quite healthy) and started the long 5-hour drive to Tampa. We saw a guy flipping a sign
for a mattress store and then proceeded to drive through the Everglades where nothing eventful happened.

We got to Tampa with plenty of time and Rob went to buy some dinner at the grocery store while I watched
the merch table. This was a longer show that started early with plenty of younger bands. You find yourself
watching alot of younger bands on the road and it always makes me think back to when we started... crazy.
Anyways, Tampa has always been awesome to us and this time was NO DIFFERENT! We had a blast and
probably played the best in Tampa out of the 3 dates on the trip!

uff

Crazy fun crowd- good times. We had an AWESOME moment where at the end of one of our new songs (unnamed)
our buddy stage dived into the crowd and was then crowdsurfed (but kinda walked if you know what I mean)
out of the room! It was hilarious and I had to restart Pressure I was laughing so hard. Thanks Tampa!

After the show we headed to Tylers. Tyler plays guitar for Paranoia Dance Party and he freaked us out by
talking to us through the laundry shoot from the basement. IT SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS IN THE ROOM!
Tyler let us use his stove, shower, and sleep peacefully till about noon so it was awesome. Thanks so much!

SUNDAY Oct 4th

--Back to Gainesville we go! Just like the other 2 stops we saw lots of familiar faces. I love it! I can't stress
how awesome it is to see people come back to shows and tell us it was worth it! That motivates me
so much! Gainesville was great, 1982 is always fun for us. Hot, sweaty place- but fun. It was here where
I gained some confidence about our new stuff! Blaine from Chupaskabra and Matty and Shireen from The
Duppies joined us for Push Push Push so Blaine was like lets do Angry Dance now. We did and it threw
off our setlist a bit. What it did was make us play 2 new songs back-to-back which honestly we really
shouldn't do! I don't like it when my favorite bands do it (I like them paced) but we accidently did
that here.... AND people dug it! I was shocked but excited! I guess we have been doing a good job.
We bounced a few new songs off the crowd in all 3 cities and well- I couldn't be happier with the reaction.
We learned alot and got a few new ideas- so YEA! Back to the practice space with them!

Some pics in Gainesville:

After this... The Duppies rocked it to close the show. The got me up there for "Reggae Night Food" as usual
and it was a blast! Those cats are tight! I was in the back selling some CDs dancing with a few peeps-
GREAT way to end an awesome weekend! After the show, we said our goodbyes and thank yous and headed
home... all the way home! We got Paul to Pensacola around 4am and he took off to Montgomery...
meanwhile I drove us into New Orleans through sunrise. Boy was Monday rough- haha. I HATE being awake
through sunrise. Awesome weekend! More pictures will be up soon. Lots of people took some!

Clay didn't have any crowdshots on this myspace or I would have put them up-- we'll get em up as well
as whatever video we have VERY soon! Thanks for reading this- see you next time!

AND THANK YOU for coming out!
