RULES OF KARAOKE

Rule 1:  Have Fun!  Karaoke is meant to be a fun activity.  It is not meant to be taken serious.  This is not "Star Search"...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

Rule 2:  Relax and enjoy yourself.  Have a couple of drinks and a few laughs with family and/or friends.  (See rule 1 if this rule confuses you)

Rule 3:  Clap, hoop, holler, whistle, stomp or whatever.  Let the singer on stage know you appreciate his or her talents.  (Don't forget rule 1, clapping, whooping, hollering, whistling, stomping or whatever can be part of the fun)

Rule 4:  Find a song in the karaoke book, fill out a slip and give it to the host.  This is another way you can join in on the fun.

Rule 5:  BE PATIENT!    Once your slip has been turned into the host, you must WAIT FOR YOUR TURN!    Do Not ask the host to put your slip ahead of the rotation because you have to leave.  That would not be fair to the other singers.  (The FUN is to be shared equally by everyone, and not by just one self-centered, selfish, egotistical person who thinks the karaoke show should revolve around him or her.)

Rule 6:  If you are the kind of person who has got to sing next.  Write your song request on a twenty-dollar bill, give it to the host and the host will do what he can to get you up next.  Otherwise, obey rule 5.   (I can be bought; heck, I'm no fool.)

Rule 7:  Be considerate.  When a singer is singing, do not walk in front of the monitor when they are trying to read the words to the song.  (Didn't your mother teach you anything?)

Rule 8:  Be considerate.  When a singer is singing, DO NOT WALK UP ON STAGE AND START SINGING BACKUP    unless you are asked to by the singer.  (Being inconsiderate can take away from the singer's fun)

Rule 9:  Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you and have fun!

Rule 10:  Be responsible.  Do not swing the mic by its cord or pound on the mic.  (Damaged equipment is not fun for anyone.)

Rule 11:  No whining.  If someone is singing "your song", so what!  I got news for you.  You didn't write the song.  You don't own the song.  Maybe you forgot, this is karaoke.  We are singing other people's songs and having fun at it.

Rule 12:  No one behind the DJ system except EMPLOYEES, unless invited.

Those are the rules.
