"THE BEST CRITICS' PICKS CONCERT EVER!"

On Friday, November 3, 2006, the Nashville Scene Music Festival 2 (NSMF2) will be held at the historic Belcourt Theatre in the vibrant community of Hillsboro Village.  The event, which kicks-off at 4:30pm (gates open at 4 pm), will feature some of the best acts of Nashville's dynamic indie rock scene.  The evening's performances will feature a fantastic lineup of non-stop music on two stages. Confirmed artists include under shade, The Shazam, Bang Bang Bang, Wide Awake, Autovaughn, Altered Statesman, The Explorers Club, Glossary, Umbrella Tree, The Hotpipes, Imagine Asians, Velcro Stars, , All We Seabees, The Worsties, Ole Mossy Face, The Turn In and more.  Tickets are $10 in advance and go on sale Tuesday, October 3 at Belcourt Theatre (2102 Belcourt Avenue), online at http://tickets.belcourt.org, and at Grimey's (1604 8th Ave. South) New  and Preloved Music – day of show on sale $15.  The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation will be onsite taking donations and sharing information about their worthy causes.

Building upon the success of last years' inaugural NSMF concert, organizers are well on their way to building a brand to become one of the Tennessee's premiere music festivals.  In addition to the music, the night will include a light-hearted awards show to honor Nashville's local bands and professionals whose jobs center around the music industry – those behind the scenes who never get the applause.  Awards include "Homecoming King & Queen," "Best in the West," "Go East Young Band," "Rock 'N' Roll Bartender," and moreVoting begins on September 28 at www.nashvillescene.com

ABOUT THE LANCE ARMSTRONG FOUNDATION (LAF):

LAF inspires and empowers people affected by cancer.  From the moment of diagnosis, LAF provides the practical information and tools people with cancer need to live life on their own terms.  LAF provides ongoing local community programs, research programs, and national partnerships with other cancer foundations and groups in support of these goals.  Since its inception in 2001, the LAF Community Program alone has awarded more than $3.7 million to nonprofit organizations across the country (including grants to Nashville's own Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation).

ABOUT THE MINNIE PEARL CANCER FOUNDATION:

The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit public charity committed to funding programs that provide the greatest benefit to cancer patients and their families.  By supporting new programs in cancer research, education, and patient and family services, The Foundation honors the memory of Sarah Cannon, a cancer patient herself, who created the beloved character "Minnie Pearl."
