What does the Pope watch?
What does the Pope listen too?
What does the Pope read?

These are important questions, because someone that carries so much ‘weight’ should have their finger on the pulse on what is actually going on in the world before opening their mouth, especially if they choose to add their opinion and guidance to a subject matter so devastating and sensitive as Aids.

A lot of countries take very seriously what the Pope preaches and in regions where it is widely believed that the ‘cure’ for Aids is to have unprotected sexual intercourse with a virgin, his comments are unwelcome and goes along way in undoing a lot of the hard work that has already been done by way of educating many of these cultures.

What is interesting, is the reaction to his comments from across the piste… even Catholics, they have been as welcome as a Geordie fella’s ‘groans’ in a porn film (if you have ever had the misfortune to watch a porn film with a Geordie fella in it you will know exactly what I mean)… demonstrating how increasingly out of step the Vatican is with the rest of the world.

I know that this is just another one of many ‘provocative’ comments from Beni and I also know that this is tame in comparison to say Pope Pius XII's actions during the Holocaust, but nevertheless, his comments could have some long term serious implications.

Have a happy Damn Friday.

Those religious twats would be just a good joke, if indeed there were not countries where a lot of people still take their drivel seriously.

I am just back from two weeks in the Philippines, a country where the two largest cities are so overcrowded by farmers and fishermen looking for streets paved of gold (and finding none of it), pretty much the whole of the population lives in abject poverty.

It is a very catholic country and the pope's stance agaisnt using condoms or pills for sexual intercourse results in families of 4 to 10 children that simply cannot feed themselves.

Same situation outside the cities, but at least they have kinda enough to eat. However that overpopulation pressure means on many islands too much pressure on the local water supplies that will have important negative consequences in the near future.

Another example of the midless cirminality of organised religions.
Twats that's what they are !

The Pope has no need to watch TV: he has advisors for doing that. The Pope has no need to listen: other than to consultancy panels. The Pope reads... the Bible.
There is no better source of information on the world than that mighty tome!

Catholicism, like Islam and Judaism, is just a sticking plaster for the weak-willed and directionless in the world. And while I pity each and every person that follows these "Faiths", I have no pity at all for their leaders. For while they're as culpable as any government for the millions of deaths and horrors committed in their names, they NEVER apologize, and NEVER admit their Faith may take mankind in a direction that leads to disaster, simply because in their eyes God will sort things out for them.

He is old. He will die.

As AIDS takes it toll upon Africa and the world population increases, the pope sits in the Vatican and carries on spouting his BS on his thoughts of contraception. The vatican (as well as the pope) needs to wake uo and smell the roses, something they seem reluctant to do.

I have no arguement with religous beliefs its uoto the individual, however i do have a problem when they spout ill informed doctrine that harms the lives of others let alone theyre own followers.
