If you are one of those people who liked Mentallo & The Fixer more during their "Where Angels Fear to Tread" and "Burnt Beyond Recognition" releases than their last couple of challenging chaotic experiments, then you should check out Red+Test who faithfully recreates the late 80s/early 90s electro industrial club sound. Veterans of the scene will feel it's all been done before (e.g. Funker Vogt, Wumpscut, X Marks the Pedwalk, Decoded Feedback, Pulse Legion, etc.) but with the increasing popularization of lighter futurepop from formerly EBM/industrial bands, there is still something entertaining about the dark and harsh textures of the "old" style, especially in this case. While many bands come across as ambiguous or just plain nihilistic in what they are singing about, that's not the case with Red+Test who is upfront about his concerns with the immediate, ongoing issues of war atrocities and social disintegration occurring in the world today. Hence, the band uses tag lines such as "world peace through unity" and "world industrial music". Currently there are a bunch of full-length mp3s available for download from his myspace page which I highly recommend!
