A little over twelve months ago Caitlin Fisher and Will Snyder were complete strangers.  They met up on CMT's Can You Duet, both auditioning with partners they'd been singing with for ages.  The judges passed on the other two and paired these performers together.  The end result?  They won the whole enchilada which came with a recording contract on Columbia Nashville Records.

Now their self-titled MP3 EP is available and I'm diggin' it.  Enough so that I wrote a review of it on BlogCritics.  It's a cool start for their career together, a mix of ballads and rockers.

And man...can they rock.  On last year's CYD they did a cover of "Before He Cheats".  Let me let you in on something.  If I were a certain blonde country music idol and I heard Caitlin & Will do their version of one of my signature songs, I think I'd have to drop it from my repetoire.

What?  Does that sound too harsh?  Caitlin has a powerhouse voice and Will, no slouch at the vocalizing himself, can really shred on guitar.  I'd put him up against a lot of the players I know with the thought that he just might have them step back a pace or two.  You can see what I'm talking about here on CMT.
They give their edge to ballads too.  Here's the version they did of Keith Urban's "Stupid Boy."  While they didn't steal his thunder, just by changing the lyrics to make the song a duet gave it a different and strong take from the original.

Neither of those tunes are on Caitlin & Will's six song digital EP, which can be found at all the usual online sellers like Amazon and iTunes.  But the ones that are on it are pretty tasty.  Want to give it a listen first?  Head on over to their MySpace profile.

Looking forward...

OK.  I don't know what's going on with my links.  Now they are a different font and size than the one that I use.  HHhhhhmmmm.  That's never happened before.  Any help in fixing this is most welcome!
