After spending the greater part of this year on the road, I'm so ready for the next month and a half at home.  Time to recharge, regroup and reconnect.  I've already started writing music for James Farm -- a new collaborative band that Aaron Parks, Matt Penman, Eric Harland and I are planning to launch next year.  I'm also hoping to come up with some new trio repertoire -- ideally before the run with Hutch and Penners in October.  And, man-o-man, do I need to practice!  (so many weaknesses, so little time.....)  But more than anything, I'm just looking forward to being with my family.  Gotta build up those daddy chops again.  My son is already running me ragged.  But never has exhaustion been so much fun!....

Marie and I are sad to see that your schedule doesn't any stops, anytime soon, in Minneapolis!  All the same, we love recalling the show in March at the Dakota with great fondness and happiness!

We will definitely see you the next time you are in town.  Enjoy your time off and your family.

Best regards,
Racheal Rassier - Minneapolis, MN

Good to hear what's up on a homey tip. I have the perspective of both a fan and fellow musician (singer-poet). (I think you may know my dad from when he was taking photos--Lenny Bernstein.) I enjoy what you say about practicing. It's hard for nonmusicians to understand how our playing goals constitute a holy grail that we never quite reach. For me the trick is to balance the frustration of that with the amusement and joy. -- Lisa B
