Gretsch Musical Instruments has released a limited-edition Musician
Figurine to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the company. This very
special collectible statue is a reproduction of a model originally
produced in 1948 and given by the Fred Gretsch Company as a token of
appreciation to dealers, distributors, and special friends.
The
commemorative ceramic figurine measures almost 12 inches tall and
features a minstrel accordion player with Gretsch Company designation.
The accordion accompanied the music making of Europeans who emigrated
to the New World in the 19th Century, and it was during this time that
entrepreneur Friedrich Gretsch set up his Brooklyn shop, circa 1883.
In
honor of the company milestone, a limited number of 500 were crafted;
many of which have already been presented to the Gretsch family of
special friends
The Musician Figurines will be made available to
purchase by Gretsch collectors and enthusiasts through the
GretschGear.com online web store. Each figurine comes with a
certificate of authenticity and is numbered and signed by Fred W.
Gretsch himself.
