Dear Fans of J-Kwest,
We here at BlazeStar Incorporated have felt the need to release an official statement regarding the situation between our own J-Kwest and fledgling BackWordz Records recording artist, Stephen "King John" Yuric.
Approximately two months ago the Internet saw the release of "John Yurine," a scathing-yet-comedic look into the obscure world of "King John" -- a highly questionable, so-called "gangster rapper" from the rural area of Colchester, Vermont. What had started out as half-joke, half-lyrical-practice for J-Kwest soon took an expected, yet menial turn upon discovery of "Poppin' Skulls," Stephen's mediocre response.
Not to be outdone, Kwest offered up "Bustin' Em," a biting comparison pitting Stephen's amateurish delivery against J's own advanced cadence and rhyme schemes. We thought it would end there, with Kwest humorously parodizing Yuric's "Fuck A Job" and seemingly sealing the deal on the battle between the two. We were wrong.
Yuric wasted no time in getting to work on his next reply, entitled "What You Know." This spurred J to formulate his magnum opus; "What I Know," which unabashedly called out Yuric's flaws, lies, and inconsistencies in both the hip-hop game and life in general. In this song, Kwest firmly states:
"This is my last song, after that I'm ignoring you / Cuz rhetorically speakin', I'm just tired and bored of you / Plus I got recordin' to do / No Kwestions Asked, comin' next quarter to a corner near you"
It was the nail in the coffin as far as J was concerned. BlazeStar Inc. staff and colleagues agreed -- no more time would be wasted on someone as dense, fraudulent, unoriginal, and musically untalented as Stephen John Yuric. With not one, but two albums presently in the works (the No Kwestions Asked EP and Kwest's full-length debut, The Right To Remain Violent), attention has been diverted to these projects and away from the meaningless squabble which Yuric foolishly refuses to abandon. Having made at least three more frivolous diss songs to our flagship artist, Yuric truly believes he may, one day, have the upper hand in a battle that was over long ago.
Also noteworthy is the fact that King John has knowingly and willingly infringed on techniques employed by J-Kwest, for example chopping and screwing a track of his immediately following the release of "Zu Fam (Screwed Mix)," as well as other instances of tactical theifdom on his behalf. We here at BlazeStar Inc. would like to encourage Mr. Yuric to do what he does best; to go back to making faux-Southern, superficial rap music over blatantly stolen instrumentals; fornicating with unsightly women that weigh more than he does; and visibly urinating himself in public places.
J-Kwest, myself, and all of us at BlazeStar Inc. would like to thank you, the fans and listeners, for your continued support during these conflictual times. We're positive you will appreciate the time, energy, and effort put into both the No Kwestions Asked EP and The Right To Remain Violent. Be sure to stay tuned, and check out the official J-Kwest MySpace page for the latest updates, songs, and info on VT's finest underground emcee!
