Hi everyone!

I hope you're all enjoying this crazy season of gift shopping, decorating and preparing for Christmas in a thousand different ways...I've had my focus on Christmas music, both attending special concerts and performing. I just went to see Bela Fleck's Holiday concert at Fairfield University's Quick Center for the Arts. It was an awesome show..I got to meet Bela Fleck and Victor Wooten after the show and talk with them about their music, guitars and banjos...(will post the photos we took together soon!).  I posted aYoutube video of the same band playing one of his older tunes on this site for you to check out.  I told him he makes me want to learn the banjo!....He asked me if I could roll chords, since I play Classical guitar, I said "sure I could"..He told me "then you should try the banjo". (Not that I'm really going to...who has time? But it was a nice fantasy!).  It was very cool meeting him and the rest of his amazing band!  The concert showcased a new Holiday CD called Jingle All the Way that he just recorded and is up for a Grammy award....it's 1 on the Jazz charts!  Very tasteful Jazz arrangements of Christmas songs, and, as always, done in his unique fashion.  Jeff Coffin was fantastic on Saxes and flute.  Victor Wooten got a standing ovation for a mind-blowing 10 minute bass solo!! Incredible player!  I bought their CD "Live Art" and highly recommend it to fans of his, if you haven't heard it yet.  Aside from being obsessed with his music right now, I've written a few new arrangemants of traditional Christmas songs myself for solo classical guitar...I've been performing them around Connecticut on my Takamine Classical (electric) Guitar and having fun with it, both solo and duo gigs..Gillette Castle was a fun one, great acoustics in the Great Room. Another one coming up with Richard Brooks on the 27th in Wilton that I'm looking forward to.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy every second of this sparkling season!

Best in the New Year!

Kathleen
