Are we going through crazy times or is just that we are no longer numb?
The bad comes with the good and the good with the bad. Better yet " La vida te da sopresas, sorpresas te da la vida" that's what Mr. Ruben Blades told us-and he is right!
What's the point of this blog? Probably no point- It just feels like we are going through major changes, socially, economically, politically...you know what I mean? Some of these changes are very positive however some are fueling negativity and opposition in every way possible. It's like a bad trip or something. You get kissed on one cheek and punched in the other.
This turmoil distracts us and drains us, leaving little energy to spend with the people that actually matter in our everyday life.
Today a good friend and talented guitar player I've worked with for years lost his mother. Last week he was saying how he was planning on moving near her in the months to come to take care of her. All that changed today, without notice. This for me was a big eye opener.
So instead of letting these crazy times distract us and scare us- turn off your cell phones for a couple of hours, don't watch the news, reach out to your family and friends, make new ones, listen to some music together, dedicate tracks to the special people in your life. Shit crank up the volume and play some Marley or whatever it is you like!
