Honorable Senators, July 25, 2009 I have more then a few concerns with the spiraling, out of control mess that has been created in Washington DC with both parties fighting like kids in a school yard over marbles. I am going to touch on each concern as briefly as possible because they are numerous and I do not have the 1200 + sheets of paper it would take to print it nor would you read it any way, as we have learned in the past! The Health Care Bill - Health Care is not a RIGHT- I DO NOT believe things should be given to those who do not work for it! I do not feel I should pay for other peoples health bills with my taxes when they do not take care of themselves and are promiscuous or drug users! I do not agree that the Health Care Issue is the most pressing matter that lies before you. The majority of the American People do not want this bill passed we do not appreciate the government infringing on our rights! We will be heard! Even without the help of the liberal media which you have eating out of your hands- We, the People are not sitting down and taken this lightly! Does it not make more sense to take care of the illegal immigration that has put such a burden on our economy with free medical assistances and free government aide. That is just ridiculous for people who break the law to enter this country in the first place to be rewarded! Have you not learned that the number of uninsured has been over inflated so much that it has become a down right lie! Nearly 10 million (9.7) of the 45.7 million uninsured are “not a citizen.” That makes every media claim of uninsured Americans higher than 35.9 million is wrong. More than 17 million of the uninsured make at least $50,000 per year (the median household income of $50,233) – 8.4 million make $50,000 to $74,999 per year and 9.1 million make $75,000 or higher. Two economists working at the National Bureau of Economic Research concluded that 25 to 75 percent of those who do not purchase health insurance coverage “could afford to do so.” An Urban Institute study found that 25 percent of the uninsured already qualify for government health insurance programs The Congressional Budget Office says that 45 percent of the uninsured will be insured within four months. CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin also said that the frequent claim of 40+ million Americans lacking insurance is an “incomplete and potentially misleading picture of the uninsured population.” Congressional Budget Office analysis found that 36 million people would remain uninsured even if the Senate’s $1.6 trillion health care plan is passed. Patient confidentiality is likely to be compromised since centralized health information will likely be maintained by the government. Health care equipment, drugs, and services may end up being rationed by the government. In other words, politics, lifestyle of patients, and philosophical differences of those in power, could determine who gets what Vast numbers of jobs are sure to be lost in all aspects of the medical field. Please get your facts straight if you haven’t noticed you have awoken the sleeping lion with that Stimulus package that was passed at the speed of light but never read! HR 2454 (Cap And Trade) - With this bill- where do I begin! This bill will impose a large burden on lower and middle class Americans not to mention continued job loss and American jobs that will be sent overseas, (as if that isn’t an issue by it‘s self!) this bill may create green jobs but they are temporary at best. Another concern is any emission reductions achieved by the United States due to this bill will be negated by the increasing emissions from countries around the world like China and India. Not mention that the fact that global warming is now being disputed by many scientist. The latest study shows that in 100 yrs this bill will help reduce 1/10 of 1% of a degree celceous!! Here is a breakdown for the possible fees that will come about with the passing of this bill. Raise electricity rates up to 90% Raise Natural gas prices up to 55% Raise AVERAGE family energy bill from $1,241 to $1,600 yearly Raise gas prices 58% This is just to name a few! It is crucial that the Senate carefully weigh the risks and benefits of any proposed climate change legislation! No Amnesty for Illegal Aliens-Why should would reward illegals with access to taxpayer funded benefits—including healthcare services, education, housing and jobs? Given the state of the economy, adopting an open-boarder agenda will spark an invasion of illegals that will decimate our nation. Build The Fence. As first priority, America must stop the flow of illegal immigration by investing all necessary resources in securing our borders. The 843 miles of double-layered fencing authorized by Congress and promised to the American people has not been built. Yet such a barrier is truly the backbone of any plan to gain control of our border and the illegal immigration crisis threatening our land. Why not re-appropriate stimulus funds to employ Americans to build and maintain the fence. Aggressive deportation. Immediate investment in aggressive effort to deport the 12 million illegal immigrants currently within our b orders – if you’re caught, you are sent back. I support The Real I.D. Act (H.R. 418) that prohibits illegal aliens from being issued drivers licenses and prevents terrorists from abusing the asylum laws of the United States. No work. Stricter punishment of U.S. businesses that knowingly employ illegal aliens. Establish national database of legal immigrants to assist both public and private sectors in this effort. No Birthright Citizenship. Illegals flood to the U.S. simply to have babies—which are then granted citizenship. Changing the current law is certain to curtail the illegal traffic. No American should be denied a job because they do not speak Spanish! Can you not see how easy it is for terrorist to enter our country. Has 9-11 not taught us anything! It’s a shame to think that so many lives were lost and not one lesson was learned about boarder security! Constant attacks on our 2nd Amendment Rights! Amendment II: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. Supreme Court Ruling DC v. Heller - In a 5-4 decision, the Court held that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that firearm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home. The Court based its holding on the text of the Second Amendment, as well as applicable language in state constitutions adopted soon after the Second Amendment. It’s a little over kill to keep bringing this up and a waste of time and tax payers money when there are so many other pressing issues. Czars - Why does the President now have more Czars then any country in history! Do you know the definition: an emperor or king. 2.(often initial capital letter) the former emperor of Russia. 3.an autocratic ruler or leader.4.any person exercising great authority or power in a particular field: a czar of industry. Looks like you might be out of a job soon. You are harming America by Idly sitting by and not giving the American people the authority to have their voices heard! These Czars are unconstitutional only The Congress has powder spend! Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn) ACORN Union-Busts Its Employees – The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) found that ACORN violated the National Labor Relations Act and required the group to rehire and pay restitution to employees terminated for attempting to form a union. ACORN employees have historically demanded higher wages, safer working conditions, and more timely payment of contracted wages. These efforts have been repressed behind closed doors by the hypocritical ACORN leadership, which organizes tens of thousands of public and private sector employees into unions. ACORN and Voter Registration Fraud – ACORN has been linked to voter fraud in at least 12 states, including Ohio in 2004. In Cuyahoga County, ACORN and its affiliate Project Vote submitted registration cards that had the highest rate of errors for any voter registration group; in Franklin County, two ACORN employees submitted what the director of the board of election supervisors called “blatantly false” forms; a grand jury indicted a Columbus ACORN employee for submitting a false signature and false voter registration form. The ACORN Housing Corporation (AHC) had a $1 million government grant stripped after it was caught using the funds illegally. Evidence uncovered by the Inspector General of the AmeriCorps program found that AHC utilized the AmeriCorps grant to increase ACORN membership, a violation of federal guidelines. AHC had distributed leaflets stating that low-income, first-time homebuyers were required to join ACORN (at an annual cost of $60) in order to receive the government-subsidized counseling which was supposed to be free. Despite this apparent fraud, the group continues to receive millions in taxpayer dollars. Why should it be okay to shut our eyes and let this happen. We can not do it a with clear with a clear conscience and not sure how any one could. Vast number of Americans want answers! We, The People want proof that Mr, Obama is indeed a Natural born citizen, this topic can not keep being ignored and swept under the rug. If he is, Mr Obama needs to prove it and put this to rest. If he is, why did Mr. Obama revoke the Executive Order Executive Order 13233 And place an executive order to seal presidential records in Executive Order 13489. We have a RIGHT to know! You are there for checks and balances to make the best choices for the American people not to push yours or your lobbyists’ agendas. I am thankful for one thing. The American people are getting more involved and making sure that their voices are heard and that YOU uphold the US Constitution and The Bill of Rights!
