I was stoked when Wounded Records sent me Bring Down Broadways' new release "It's All Gone South" last week. As I was planning on picking up a copy anyway. The first track, an intro that sounds like a demo from a cheese 8-bit 80's toy keyboard, kind of threw me off for a second. But as soon as "Barely There" started and I realized that it wasn't representative of the production quality, I got a little chuckle out of it. Although I'll probably never listen to it again since I skipped that track when I ripped the CD to my music library. All in all I really liked this CD. The songs are very indicative of Metalcore in general these days but they still manage enough dynamics and originality to elevate them above the clones of the genre. If I were to compare them to more well known bands. I would say the vocals are very Tim Lambesis(As I Lay Dying) circa "Beneath the Encasing of Ashes." And musically they remind me a lot of August Burns Red. You should pick yourself up a copy of this disc. I think you'll enjoy it, I did. -Jason NCMR
