Sadplant, CT Punx (myspace.com/sadplant). "Summertime in CT once again we got nothing to do / Just the same old thing, every day is really nothing new..." sings Ben Social in "Summer Session." That just about sums this record up: CT Punx may not sound like anything new, but that was never really in question. Songs range from 26 seconds to two minutes 38 seconds, which is necessarily short, since they kick you in the face. The drummer is good with superfast skate-punk beats. The band is tight. It even gets metal at times. There are a couple of intentionally irritating samples/spoken word introductions before the first and last tracks (the last is a semi-ironic Blink 182 cover). The chorus of the title track "CT Punx" goes as follows: "CT punx, CT punx, CT punx, oi oi oi oi / Yeah that's right...Fuck you!" Get it? Fuck all of us, indeed.
