For those of you in the Seattle area, this week I'll be making a number of public appearances:
On Wednesday, October 22, at 7 PM, I'll be accepting a Washington State Book Award at the central branch of the
Seattle Public Library. Other award winners include Sherman Alexie, David R. Montgomery, Coll Thrush, Samuel Green, and George Shannon. Admission to the award ceremony is free.
On Friday, October 24, at 7:30 PM, I'll be at
Richard Hugo House, debuting a specially commissioned short story on the theme 'Road Trip' for the Hugo House Literary Series. Aimee Bender, the poet Marie Howe, and singer Laurie Katherine Carlsson will be onstage with me presenting new works of their own. Tickets are $15-25. If you can't make it, the text of the story will be posted on the Hugo House website shortly after the event.
Finally, on Saturday, October 25, at 11 AM, I'll be back at Hugo House for a live interview with
The Stranger's Paul Constant.
