The Pirate Bay is INNOCENT.  Hungry music industry fat cats as well as greedy movie producers complain that torrent downloading hurts their respective fields in entertainment. What they fail to realize is that the downloading increases revenue for them.  They fail to see that its not the guy downloading or the management team of The Pirate Bay ruining the income, its THEM.

 Who can honestly say they have been to a movie theater and have seen a movie that could compare to a movie made before the new millennium? Few people can agree with this.  Who can listen to a full album from an artist today and say they enjoyed it as much as a cd they had back when they were still relevant? Very few.  These industry moguls do not see that its the quality of entertainment that is ruining the entertainment industry.  QUALITY.  

We can easily say that, for example, the original Star Wars movies were amazing and would spend money to see it again if not already owned.  But the latest iterations of this series cannot prove this old axiom in any way.  The quality of the overall visual presentation has been updated, for sure, but the actual quality of the actors and script and FEELING of the movie cannot and will not live up to the original.

How many people purchased a full album these days?  A very small percentage.  In the time before the new millennium we have had great albums put out from extremely talented artists.  The ability to copy these albums and distribute them freely amongst the audience was also available yet it was not a problem.  These albums were of great QUALITY.  I can easily say that Soulja Boy (sorry for beating a dead topic) or most artists today can never recreate the quality that older artists  have designed and mastered.  I can also say with confidence that ALMOST EVERY album released within this new millennium is of low quality.  Dr. Dre's Detox album will prove this point when released.  The QUALITY of his album will entice people into purchasing his album rather than downloading it.  Chronic 2001, although in the infant stage of downloading, was a highly popular album with sky rocketing record sales.  HARD CD RECORD SALES.  THE QUALITY HAS A DIRECT EFFECT UPON THE REVENUE THE ALBUM GENERATES!

The Pirate Bay has no connection between the decline in the entertainment industry's finances.  This service can be attributed to KEEPING THE INDUSTRY ALIVE.  If the quality of entertainment ever leaves its cookie cutter formulas for "industry quality" and decides to appeal to the common audience, pirated movies and music will become near non existent.  People WILL put money down for something they like.
