Come and join the fun in this new genre of music - chiptune, 1st time in Malaysia!

Music, visual, trend, fashion and design in one place! The concept is 8-bit (1982-1990 era); and in particular the graphics architectures, algorithms and techniques being employed at that time in computer games (gameboy,atari,etc). We will play with lighting and a lot of colours | combine with visual & music throughout the event!

This event is organized by 2 indie brand in Malaysia;

who have their own indie brand label and had worked with many indie band/artist/group such as Hujan, Pop Shuvit, Estranged, One Buck Short, KLPHQ, Funky Doryz, Bunkface and Infinatez(Gangstarz Season 1). In this event, there will be a fashion show, installation and videos from this 2 brand through out the event. yeah!

JW86 has started his journey in Chip-music since 2006. With other colleagues, he started the chip-music movement in Indonesia, where chip-music is very taboo to them that operates music in conventional and conservative ways. JW86 have his very own way in producing chiptunes music. His music was very colorful. Techno, pop, electronic, you named it!
Some of event/show that JW86 performed are PestaMikro Vol.1 (Jakarta, Indonesia), Voila Record Store (Indonesia), Urbanfest'08 (Indonesia), Figure8ight-Junk (KL, Malaysia), Suburbia (Cyberjaya, Malaysia) and Youth'08 at PWTC (KL, Malaysia).

Ikuma is a chiptune music producer from Singapore who squeezes the phattest electrobass and hardest rhythms from the most ghetto-est equipment such as retrocomputers and game consoles from the '80s (like Amigas, Gameboys and such) in the acid house, electro-techno, and 2step styles.

Ikuma has also played a few gigs alongside other acts in Singapore, most notably at the Substation and Homeclub. He's also will playing with among International chiptuner at Blip Fest 2008, New York this December 2008.

By listen to all type of music, back to 2007, Mikrochip no32, a graphic student, falling in love with chiptune music after his friend, Luie gave him a chiptune song called 'ITSUMADEMO' by JW86 from Indonesia. Attract with the cute sound and the chiptune effect, Mikrochip no32 researched about chiptune music on the intenet and found free software called, Famitracker. Started from that, the journey to explore more chiptune music began.

Some of event/show that Mikrochip no32 performed are at Rantai Merdeka at Jaya One, Independent Soiree at Bukit Jelutong and at UiTM, Shah Alam.

Local Drug Store is a one man chiptune performer from Bandung, Indonesia. Same with JW86, he is also one of the people who started the chip-music in Indonesia. He inspired his music by Nintendo entertainment system and also by all chiptune artist. Like Ikuma, JW86 and others chiptune artist,
Local Drug Store has also taken part in Chiptune Compilation such as 'MSDJ' and 'Chiptown Rangers 16/2 bit 14 in 1'.

Local Drug Store performed at many event and gigs at Indonesia such as Pesta Mikro 2007-Jakarta, Blitz-Bandung, Sabuga-Bandung and also at The Hub, Jakarta.

Firstly Moronbeat (Selangor, Malaysia) heard about chiptune music or 8bit when it was mid year 2007. After watched several performance by one of the most popular chiptuner from Indonesia which is JW86 (Moronbeat's favourite chiptuner) at Youth'08, PWTC. From that, Ewen(Moronbeat) started to admire and study deeply into this music industry of chiptune. He inspired his music by old cartoon movie and happy cute tune. Although Moronbeat is still new in this chiptune music, he's managed to produce 3 songs ;'Morontester', 'Fakiyuu' and 'Bubble of Love'. With his joy and love with chiptune music, Moronbeat will perform his best at Colourama event!

Bit the Medusa has started their debut in senior high school. At that time the band called 'Musical Starship' ( they got 5 member and one additional). They play electro music. When they were graduated, Diru decided to study abroad to Malaysia. Then he met JW86 who has been influenced Diru to play chiptune. So Dira decided to create a new band called Bit the Medusa which consist 3 members : Dira (gameboy), Andra (vocalist), Ditto (bass) and Yayi (additional vocalist). They decided to make chip tune music not to be 'minor' but universal. Their influenced and concept are adventure game and happy tune.

Some of event/show that Bit the Medusa performed are AJS (amplified jam session) at Binus International, Jakarta and at Blitzz Paris Van Java, Bandung, Indonesia.

My Empty Battery is a chiptune performer from Klang, Selangor, Malaysia. He started his journey when his friend, Fahmi encouraged him to listen to chip music. My Empty Battery became more interested into this music when he saw JW86's myspace. At the beginning, he felt not confident to become a chiptune artist. But when he saw, his friend, Mikrochip no32 got great feedback from others listener, My Empty Battery become more serious to explore this new exciting sound.

Like other Malaysian chiptuner, My Empty Battery hope that this chip music will have their own fans around Malaysia.

Mikrobotmen is a solo project that Mohamad Aimen came up with;to play chiptune music. As he was skipping from band to band he came accross an event, where JW86 was performing. It was love at the first sight . Then from trial and error and some help from friends abroad in Indonesia, 'Babiduwh' was recorded. It wil be a great honor to see chiptuners to be as great as the
other musician here in Malaysia.

Robo Analogue consist of 2 members; Duffy and Alvin, both of them from Indonesia. They newly starts the 8-bit based music after they make friends with some colleagues who interfacing them with the 8-bit/chiptune music. Currently, Robo Analogue are acquainted with based chiptune community CHIP CHIP HURRAY, the first Malaysian chiptune movement. Influenced by JW86, Bit the Medusa, Goodnight Electric, YMCK and also Radiohead, Robo Analogue are doing they best in making good chip music.

This two Multimedia University student had joy and fun with others
chiptuner in Malaysia by taking part in road-block at UiTM, Shah Alam and at Rantai Merdeka!

Guttersnipe is an establish DJ from Jakarta, Indonesia. Genre like dub, electro had been influenced by Guttersnipe in making music. Guttersnipe have his very own way in producing chiptunes sound. He inspired his music from artist around the world especially France and Germany artist like; Dubmood, Jahtari and Huoratron.

Guttersnipe form as a DJ early 2008, but with his great talent, he has been invited to a few event and gigs. Alongside other acts in Jakarta, Indonesia, Guttersnipe has played at the Urbanfest 2008 : Ancol, Chip Attack at Kemang and Malam Mencekam at Fatmawati Indonesia.

Fingerfast is an art community based at Batam, Indonesia. Since 2002, Fingerfast focused on new experimental of project and art. Fingerfast have done many experimental project/new-media of art around Indonesia.

Jazmi Izwan Jamal @ Jazmok is a Malaysian based new media artist, designer and sound artist producing both public and private work. He is inspired by the new media artist movement when he studied about interactive installations, generative arts and sound art. His theories for success are "Creative, Experimental, Abstract, Simpliciy, Aesthetic and FUN".

He inspired his artwork from designers and artist around the world especially Toshio Iwai, Joshua Davis, Ryoji Ikeda and other new media groups. He works as a freelancer creative designer and a sound artist. He is one of the Experimental Musicians and Artists Cooperative Malaysia (EMACM) members. Robot Asmara is not like your usual porn fix. This highly energetic band was formed in January 2008, and Art-Ku-Statik, DBP,KL was their first gig. The band members are Lin (vocal), Ijam (guitar), Tom (lead guitar), Kudut (drummer) and Danial (synth). They are influenced by various kinds of musicians from Led Zeppelin to Michael Jackson to NOFX to The Police and to Sarah Yakob which explain why their music is a mixture of pop, pop disco, punk and jazz. Dian Bang is a one cool experimental band! Dian Bang are Vanes Ching (vocal), Lee Yi Jiun (laptop, guitar), Fung (laptop, guitar) and Jasmine (background musician). They are influenced by various kinds of music such as Kitaro, Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Dou Wei, Nirvana, Chemical Brothers and Slowdive.

Some of Dian Bang best achievement are they have been introduced on top of the site of Radio Eigekai, Tokyo, Japan and also Indies Tokyo's program contained 'Mike' played by Dian Bang. They are also opening act for My Little Airport from Hong Kong.

The Night Act consists of 5 buddies ; Nine (vocals), Acap (synths/vocals), Amir (guitar), Faez (bass), Ejat (drum) and Bear(lip/lap). It's began when this group of buddies interested in playing music sound like happy dance and electronica. And from their own self-idea, The Night Act composed some songs to make everybody feel free, enjoy and having some fun. They share the same passion & love towards music even with different opinion and interest in it. They are now in recording new process material.

Alongside other bands in Malaysia, they have performed at ABM Tour Kuala Lumpur, One Café Sunday Night Show and KL Indie Fest Showcase, KL Tower.
